First they changed the title from Project Gary to Gary Unmarried, and now we have another change coming to Jay Mohr's new CBS sitcom.Ed Begley, Jr. has been cast as the therapist who treated Mohr and his ex-wife, played by Paula Marshall. The role of the therapist in the pilot was played by comic Larry Miller, who just did a guest turn on Burn Notice (maybe this will give him time for more appearances on that show).
Begley is fine, but I think Miller would have been really funny as not only the guy who treated a couple that broke up but is now also engaged to that ex-wife. I bet Miller would have been great in that role. He can do everything from sad/funny to weird/funny to creepy/funny. No word on why he was replaced. The show premieres this fall and will air Wednesdays at 8:30, in CBS' new Wednesday comedy block (along with Old Christine).

Hank the mere mention of the greatest sitcom of the last 15 years has made me smile. Thx. Peter Dragon forever!

That's not a good sign. Larry Miller = funny, Ed Begley, Jr. = "funny guy didn't want the part so they chose me."
I didn't exactly have high hopes for his show, anyway. Didn't seem like a must-see pilot, let alone a continue to watch program. Poor Jay, should have stayed on Ghost Whisperer and waited for J Love's on-screen hubby to die.

If they replace Paula Marshall, this show is dead to me. In fact, she's the only reason I might check it out in the first place. I'm miffed that Mohr won't be on Ghost Whisperer, but I can't blame him for wanting his own show, either.
