In the Heroes universe (as with the Buffy universe before it), death has never stopped anyone from being a guest star. According to EW's Michael Ausiello, Robert Forster will be joining the cast as Arthur Petrelli, the father of Nathan and Peter Petrelli. The character has been well-established as being dead on the series. Forster is best known for his Academy Award-nominated performance in the movie Jackie Brown. As the original article states, there isn't a definitive way to know how we'll meet Papa Petrelli. Hiro's time-travel abilities could be involved or it could simply be a flashback.
It's also unknown whether Daddy will have superpowers like his two kids, although it seems unlike that he wouldn't. Perhaps resurrection is his superpower?
Other questions: is Arthur Petrelli a good guy or a bad guy? It's tough to say when the season is subtitled "Villains". The article also states that Angela Petrelli will reveal yet another secret. Did she keep her husband alive and let everyone think he was dead? Is she a double-agent of some sort? After a weak second season, the third season of Heroes is starting to look good.
