The normal audition process came to an end this week as aspiring entertainers performed in front of the three judges and the crowd. The last auditions episode will air next week when people who entered the competition via MySpace will face off the dreaded Xs.
Sadly, I was not able to watch this week's episode of America's Got Talent because of a power outage (and because I'm from Canada, I can't watch the episode on the network's website). Therefore, this week's review will not be as detailed as usual. Thanks to the recaps at NBC.com, I got an idea of what happened. So here we go with my two cents about this week's episode.
Perry Zanett, actor - Actors never did really well on the show so I'm not surprised the crowd wasn't impressed. He must have been really bad for Piers to say that Perry was a waste of space. Do you agree with Piers' comment?
However, it seems that Perry wasn't the worst performer around. According to NBC.com's recap, Piers described one act as "feeling like he was on a weird acid trip." That quote makes me feel like the act must have been quite colorful costume-wise and that the performance wasn't that good and well-rehearsed. I guess me not seeing that act isn't a big loss, eh?
XL, singer - Singers with unique names are the trend this season. It looks like this was one of the touching story of the night, topped by a fantastic performance. I'll definitely try to catch his performance on YouTube.
Texas State Strutters, dancers - I saw a picture of them and, without having seen the performance, I can see why the judges gave them a pass to Las Vegas. Let's face it, Piers and David love female dancers even if the performances are so-so.
Ronny B., dancer - Using the wall as a prop? I have to watch this asap! From the description I've read about Ronny, he doesn't seem to be the best dancer around but, after having seen bad dancers go through, I'm not surprised Piers and Sharon wanted to see more of his unusual dancing.
Michael Harrison, ventriloquist - Following in Terry Fator's footsteps is not an easy task. It's normal that all ventriloquists will be compared to Fator when they audition because he was last year's winner. However, the judges need to remind themselves that Terry had years of practice and also improved throughout the competition. Harrison seemed to have given a good performance. This will be another act I'll have to watch asap, especially since I was rooting for Fator all of last season.
Queen Emily David, singer - I saw footage of her performance last week in the previews. It was clear that she was going to be the heartbreaking story of the night and that she would impress everyone with her amazing performance. She'll surely be another performer to watch for as the show progresses.
What did you think of this week's episode? Which performances should I try to catch on YouTube?

A CANADIAN!! Talk about job outsourcing. Look, theres a simple solution, just make sure that one of the other 3 people living up there doesn't use the microwave and dryer at the same time and you'll be fine. You do have microwaves right?

Well since I went to Texas State University, I, of course, have to vote for the Strutters.

Don't waste your time with Ronny B. He's obviously this season's "Boy Shakira" - but , actually Boy Shakira (and later Boy Britney) brought more to the stage than this guy!

After seeing Ronnie B get vote on by these idiot judges, I turned off the show and doubt I will ever go back. This show is a complete waste of time.
