CW announces an early Fall premiere schedule

When you're a ratings-challenged fledgling network like the CW, you're going to do anything you can to get a leg up on the competition. Releasing sex-filled advertisements for your most high-profile show is a good start, but that alone won't get the job done. To that end, the CW has just announced that it's moving its fall premiere dates up to September 1st, well ahead of the beginning of the traditional broadcast season.

The idea behind the move is that you're already going to be hooked on Gossip Girl and Top Model by the time the other networks get around to premiering their fall shows, sometime around mid-to-late September. The season isn't the only thing the CW is starting early, however. Starting in November, they're also extending prime time, with original programming beginning at 6:30 on Sunday nights.

Check out CW's full premiere schedule after the jump.

Monday, September 1: Gossip Girl at 8:00 (Really? That's an 8:00 show? That seems...bold). One Tree Hill follows at 9:00.

Tuesday, September 2: 90210 will have a two-hour premiere at 8:00. Starting September 9, it will be followed by Privileged at 9:00. Privileged is based on the book, How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls and stars JoAnna Garcia (Reba) as a live-in tutor to two uh, filthy rich girls.

Wednesday, September 3: Cycle three billion of America's Next Top Model has a two-hour premiere at 8:00. Starting October 29, it will be followed at 9:00 by Stylista, a new reality show that follows 11 suckers, er, fashion hopefuls, as they compete for an editorial job at Elle magazine.

Thursday, September 18: Smallville returns at 8:00, followed by Supernatural at 9:00.

Sunday, September 21: In Harm's Way, a new reality series about dangerous jobs premieres at 7:00. Some of the jobs featured include Coast Guard divers, minesweepers, and war photographers. Also premiering at 8:00 is a one-hour romantic comedy called Valentine, starring Jaime Murray (Dexter) and Kristopher Polaha (North Shore) as two members of the Valentine family, Greek Gods who do whatever it takes to bring soulmates together. At 9:00, Easy Money, a one-hour drama about a family who runs a high interest loan business debuts. Money stars Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne) and Judge Reinhold (Beverly Hills Cop).

Friday, October 3: The CW unveils its Friday night comedy block with Everybody Hates Chris at 8:00 and The Game at 8:30. A repeat of the current week's America's Next Top Model will air at 9:00.

Sunday, November 2: In Harm's Way moves to its new timeslot at 6:30, while Surviving Suburbia debuts at 7:30. Suburbia is a half-hour comedy starring Bob Saget that deals with wacky neighbor troubles.

Premiere dates for both Reaper and new reality series, 13--Fear is Real, will be announced at a later date.
