9:23: Here are all of the nominations. Leave your comments below as to what should have been nominated but wasn't and the nominations that make you roll you eyes and say, "give me a break..."
9:22: I have a feeling James Spader is going to lose this year.
9:20: Battlestar Galactica fans will be happy to see a nom in the writing category.
9:18: So...no nomination for The Wire? That's going to make fans throw their TV sets through their windows (though TV sets are harder to lift nowadays...maybe they'll just kick them in). Still not sure why Jon Cryer is "supporting" and Charlie Sheen is "lead" on Two and a Half Men.
9:15: So I lied. Instead of reposting up here I just went back to the entries below (oh, the wonder of the internet!) and put show titles in, made them italic, made everything easier to read.
9:04: OK, lets get all of these nomination categories cleaned up and reposted so you know what person goes with what show (not that you don't know that already...)
9:02: Writing, Drama: Battlestar Galactica ("Six of One"), Mad Men ("Smoke Gets In Your Eyes"), Mad Men ("The Wheel"), Damages (Pilot), and The Wire ("30").
9:01: Writing, Comedy: The Office ("Dinner Party"), 30 Rock ("Cooter"), 30 Rock ("Rosemary's Baby"), Flight of the Conchords ("Yoko"), and Pushing Daisies ("Pie-Latte").
9:00: Music, Variety, or Comedy Series: Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show, The Colberso t Report, SNL, and Real Time with Bill Maher.
9:00: Here are some more noms they didn't announce on TV.
8:58: Best Supporting Actress, Drama: Candace Bergen (Boston Legal), Rachel Griffiths (Brothers & Sisters), Chandra Wilson (Grey's Anatomy), Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy), and Dianne Wiest (In Treatment). Awwww, no Christina Hendricks for Mad Men?
8:57: Best Supporting Actress, Comedy: Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies), Jean Smart (Samantha Who?), Amy Poehler (SNL), Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men), and Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty).
8:55: Best Supporting Actor, Drama: William Shatner (Boston Legal), Ted Danson (Damages), John Slattery (Mad Men), Zeljko Ivanek (Damages), and Michael Emerson (Lost).
8:53: OK, here are the noms for Best Supporting Actor, Comedy: Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Kevin Dillon (Entourage), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men - why supporting? He's in the title of the show!), and Rainn Wilson (The Office).
8:47: Hmmm...they didn't announce the supporting cats, though they did say that both Chenoweth and Harris were nominated. By the way, I think Chenoweth was standing on 27 phonebooks when she announced the noms.
8:46: Best Comedy: 30 Rock, The Office, Entourage, Two and a Half Men, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
8:45: Best Actress, Comedy: Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Old Christine), America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), and Mary Louise-Parker (Weeds).
8:44: Best Actor, Comedy: Steve Carell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), and Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men).
8:43: Best Reality Competition: Amazing Race, Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Top Chef, and Project Runway.
8:42: Best Actor, Drama: Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), James Spader (Boston Legal), Hugh Laurie (House).
8:41: Best Actress, Drama: Glenn Close (Damages), Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters), Mariska Hargitay (Law and Order: SVU), Holly Hunter (Saving Grace), and Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer).
8:40: Best Drama: Boston Legal, Mad Men, Dexter, House, Lost, Damages.
8:33: Neil Patrick Harris and Kristen Chenoweth are going to announce the noms.
8:26: Ryan Seacrest just said that the nominations will be announced at 8:40, not 8:30. And I've learned never to doubt Ryan Seacrest.
8:25: I'm planning on doing this real live blog style. Instead of waiting until I type up all of the nominees in a category, I'm going to list the names as soon as they are announced. Then, at the end of the blog I'll repost each category by themselves with each nominee/show listed. Deal? Deal. (And yes, there will be typos.)
8:25: Just so you know: no, Jericho and Moonlight were not nominated for any major awards. Sorry.
8:24am: Good morning! Welcome to the TV Squad live blog for the Emmy nominations. Yes, they actually get up at 5:30 in the morning in L.A. to hear these. You'd think that in this day and age they could just e-mail them or something.

Believe it or not, I'm more psyched to find out about guest starring emmy noms.
(and I realize they're not going to annc. them "here". I'll have to hop on emmy's web site to find out).
30 rock basically had a guest star in every ep. this season, and (for the most part) they were the ones who stole the episode.

Anyone know which ep. of SNL Lorne & Co. submitted for Music, Variety category?
Walken's hosting was pretty solid throughout. As was Tina Fey's.

Even the fact that Mad Men & Dexter got nods can't make up for the, ONCE AGAIN, snubbing of The Wire. Who are these morons?
The Emmys are & always will be a joke.

Really? I roll my eyes at the continuous nomination of Two and a Half Men, Boston Legal, James Spader, Kyra Sedgwick, Tony Shaloub. Seriously what is even the point of putting a year on the awards the same people get nominated EVERY YEAR. Break out of the routine Academy and realize there are other shows on the USA Network like Burn Notice, what no nod for Bruce Campbell as supporting actor or Jeffery Donovan as male actor. Or what about Psych? Dule Hill and James Rafferty are hilarious on that show. Don't even get me started on The Wire. That show is amazing and was one of the best and well-written series on television. I'm still not over the fact that last season's of the Wire wasn't nominated (I still think that was the best season). Or what about Friday Night Lights? It might not be at the top of the rating charts but in terms of casting, content, writing it's at the top in my book. No nod again for Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, John Krasinski, the actor who plays Mark on "Ugly Betty."
I am thrilled for the Tin Fey, Alec Baldwin, Glenn Close, Vanessa Williams nods but that doesn't outweigh my mere disappointment and those actors and people the Academy overlooked.

I can't believe that Robert Sean Leonard was passed over yet again for "House", especially after his wonderful work over the last three episodes. What does this guy have to do to get a nomination?

Thrilled to see Michael Emerson acknowledged. His work this season on Lost was superb, certainly the most compelling performance I saw on television this season.

Wow! Amy Poehler got a nom for supporting actress in a comedy rather than Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program.
Mad props to her!
Did they change the nom process? Other than Andy winning last year for "You-know-what in a Box", has anyone from SNL received a nom?

Wow. Alot of noms for Andromeda Strain - the story was weak but I guess they loved it technically.
Yay for Cranston's nomination and Emerson's.

What the hell defines supporting vs. lead? Barney is essential in HIMYM! Though I am glad to see NPH nominated. (Everyone go watch Dr. Horrible!)

I'm so happy Dexter snagged a drama series nom. I'm sorry, but I think it's a better show than either Mad Men or Damages, the odds-on favorites to win.
My only disappointment is the exclusion of Blair Underwood in supporting actor-drama category, particularly since his In Treatment castmates (Gabriel Byrne, Dianne Wiest, Glynn Turman) all got noms.

I'm not sure if NPH deserves to win Best Supporting, but the nomination is much deserved. Is there a category for carrying a show? Like MVP in sports? That's the category NPH should win...

Wow, this list looks like the year before... and the year before. When will they ever learn that putting "House" up 20 years in a row isn't going to get them the ratings. People want to see Emmy nods for people that DESERVE them. At least the Soprano's is over so they don't dominate every category.

If they can't honor The Wire, one of the best shows ever, then why even bother? They're just the TV version of the Grammys--completely meaningless.

Mad Men and 30 Rock will dominate. Bet on it.
I'm surprised to see Budweiser's Swear Jar nominated in the commercial category. Hasn't that been around for several years?
