Haircuts on TV shows are often a very big deal. Remember when Keri Russell had the audacity to cut her long, curl mane on Felicity? Some fans never forgave her or the character! Well, be prepared for another cut to your psyche, Desperate Housewives' devotees. Eva Longoria Parker has cut her hair for the upcoming sixth season of the show. Unlike Keri, however, Eva's cut was done with the blessing of the producers.
As you can see, it's a very cute 'doo; not too blunt or pixie-ish. It's quite stylish and flattering. The idea is that with the five-year time jump that we saw in the finale last season, Gaby doesn't have the time or inclination to care for her long, flowing locks. (If you've ever had long, full hair like hers, you know what I'm talking about!)
So, with twin daughters -- around four-and-a-half years old -- our Gaby has gotten a haircut to be able to devote more time to the kids and less to her morning ablutions.
Eva's publicist confirmed that the appointment with Sweeney Todd -- that's an inside joke for DH creator Marc Cherry who's a Sondheim fan like me -- for her character. The trim occurred on Monday.
The shorter hair won't be the only change to Mrs. Solis. The publicist said that Gaby's gained a little weight, as well. However, Eva's still thin as a twig. The poundage on screen will be all Hollywood special effects. "Eva...will be wearing butt pads and stomach pads."

have to disagree with your statement about keri russell. being a die hard felicity fan, i listened to the commentaries and the producers state many times that the haircut idea was approved by the producers. they thought it was the kind of thing a college sophmore would do, to try and change who she was
