This week's letter comes from a reader named Elaine and I definitely need any help I can get.
"I'm looking for the name of a TV series that ended with a group of people walking up to a truck and it exploded with someone in it. The show was cancelled a few years ago and I need to know the name or I'm gonna go crazy"
Well, considering how many shows end with someone getting into a car and then blowing up, I really have no idea what the answer could be. So if anyone out there has any suggestions, Elaine and I would be eternally grateful.
The question did get me thinking about something. Exploding cars are certainly nothing new on television, but lately the incidents have been stretching the limits of believability. In the old days, when a car blew up with somebody inside, it was a signal that the character was gone for good, or at least would only come back in some major surprise plot twist (ala Dallas).
These days, when a car blows up with someone inside, it rarely means death and most of the time, the victims are up and back to work by the next episode. Maybe it's me, but I don't buy it.
Now for this week's question...
Who played Sonny Crockett's partner (who was blown up and killed) in the first episode of Miami Vice?
Congratulations AlwaysWatchin. You got the correct answer.
