One of the Doctor Who spin-offs will be host to a very special guest star, one that is familiar to Doctor Who fans from decades past. I'm leaving the revelation of who it is until after the jump so those not wishing to be spoiled about it don't have to be.As reported on the Doctor Who News Page (scroll down to the July 9th posts to see the article), Nicholas Courtney is reprising his role as Brigadier Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart in an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Courtney has appeared in some form or another with every Doctor from the classic run. "Sir Alastair" was the head of U.N.I.T. and has been around since the Patrick Troughton era. He was a major supporting character during the Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker era (alongside Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith).
It warms the heart of a long-time fan to see the Brig back in action. Mind you, the man is close to 80 years old, so they better get whatever mileage from the character that they can while he's still around. I hope that the Brig also gets to appear in one of next year's Doctor Who specials so he can at least meet the current Doctor.

um, just so you know the jump is in the wrong place. i didn't have to click on the link to find out who the special guest is. the jump is at the bottom instead of the start of the second paragraph. you'll want to fix that before the spoiler-phobes start reading.

The Brigadier appeared along side Doctors two through seven though technically he didn't appear in the show during The Sixth Doctor's tenure. He later met Colin Baker's Doctor during the "Dimensions in Time" special.
Any words to the rumor that there will be a Multi - Doctor Special during this coming season of "specials"?
