First there was Walter, then Henry, then Gio and now Jesse? For a girl whose called ugly, Betty Suarez gets an awful lot of appreciative looks and more from the fellows, does she not? The new man with eyes for Betty is named Jesse and actor/musician Val Emmich has been cast in the Ugly Betty role. The role is recurring -- kind of like Freddy Rodriguez when he started as Gio -- but since he's a potential love interest with UB, he could be bumped up to regular.
With the show now filming in New York, perhaps a young hot guy like Val Emmich is just the ticket for Betty. Emmich's done a lot of Manhattan TV shows -- Hope & Faith, 30 Rock, Third Watch -- so he's going to sound like a New Yawker.
They're not just filming in Manhattan. According to Marie Claire, the Ugly Betty actors and crew were in Brooklyn this week. America Ferrera was seen riding a motorcycle and being blasted with green silly string. Yes, they do make silly string in green!
In fact, I think we can count on the ABC dramedy really taking on a more realistic city feel now that they're really on the East Coast. I'm looking forward to how they incorporate other places. The fashion trade can really be injected more realistically into the show. Seventh Avenue, sweetie, and Bryant Park, and the garment district. NYC is the rag trade!

Maybe I'm too old fashioned but I wish Betty would just find a guy and stick with him. Hopefully, in the end, she gets back with a Walter. It would be a good way to end the series.

Betty will NOT likely end up with Daniel, neither of them want it to happen that way - they both see them as just friends. I just hope the writers agree.
I'm sick of them bringing in a new love interest every season though. They make us like someone, then they convince us that person is bad and we should like someone new. I know they won't let us, but I agree, she needs to settle for a while, either not dating anyone or less drama with whoever she IS with.

Every season Betty gets a little less timid and gets more self confidence. Her appearance will continue to change as well (as she is influenced by the high fashion community). Daniel will also get more confidence in his abilities as a publisher, and he will learn that looks aren't everything in a mate. Claire already sees Betty as part of her family. There's a lot of things projecting that Daniel and Betty will eventually find each other. Just because you don't want it to happen doesn't mean it won't happen, even if it doesn't stick until the end of the series.
I like the fact that Betty has dated a few guys. Theoretically, dating three guys in what we perceive as three years is really not a high number of boyfriends for a woman around Betty's age. Settling down at her age would be bad for the show, and would stifle the growth of the character.

Well I think that Gio is not the best mate for Betty. And while I was rooting for Henry, he's too much of a coward.
So I'm happy to see that Betty might find her ultimate match now. Looking forward to it.
