Even when it isn't at its greatest (which, for many fans, hasn't been since season 10) The Simpsons has still provided some great parodies of classic movies and television programs. For instance, in the season four episode "Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie" they did a great parody of the Star Trek movie franchise with Star Trek XII: So Very Tired. I still crack up everytime I see the scene where the severely obese Scotty is telling an aged Captain Kirk that he can't push the warp engines any further.

In the season six episode "Fear of Flying" we were offered another humorous parody. This time it was of the recently departed Cheers, which left the air the year before (1993). In the episode, Homer is kicked out of Moe's for some reason and decides to find a new bar. Eventually, he ends up at Cheers, which Homer describes as a "nice, friendly place." However, as the scene progresses, Homer becomes a bit unsure about this new location. Particularly when Norm decides to threaten Woody with a broken bottle in order to get another beer.

The short clip (only about 46 seconds) features the voices of Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, Woody Harrelson and John Ratzenberger in the roles they played on Cheers. The only animated bar patron that isn't voiced is Frasier Crane. This is logical since Kelsey Grammer, who played Frasier on the show, had voiced the character of Sideshow Bob for several seasons before this episode.
