Our Monday morning roundup of a half dozen things TV Squad readers - and TV fans in general - will be talking about this week.
1. The second season premiere of Burn Notice. The summer just got a little better to deal with. (Thursday at 10 on USA.)
2. Hell's Kitchen season finale. I predict Jen with try to throw boiling oil in Chef Ramsay's face. (Tuesday at 9 on FOX.)
3. It's Cheers Week at TV Squad. Our Retro Squad Summer continues with posts on all things Cheers (including Frasier, Wings, etc).
4. The series premiere of Flashpoint. The previews remind me of S.W.A.T. (Friday at 10 on CBS.)
5. The Television Critics Association summer press tour. Or, as Tim Goodman calls it, the Death March with Cocktails. (Starts tomorrow and runs through the 22nd.)
6. The season premiere of Big Brother. The summer just got a little bit worse. (Sunday at 8 on CBS.)

So hey did you manage to see the Wimbledon finals? As a Federer fan, I was gutted. But as a tennis fan, I was absolutely enthralled at the beautiful tennis that was being played right in front of our eyes.

IMHO the best tennis match ever, bar none, as it surpassed the 1980 Wimbledon.
McEnroe vs Borg was /is regarded as one of the finest matches ever. Borg prevailed in this historic tournament.
It was great watching McEnroe in his humbled state thanking both Federer and Nadal for their herculean performances. Too bad there had to be a loser in this one, although Nadal was the better player on this day.

That was one of the greatest sporting events period. I didn't think Federer would come back, and then when he did I thought he was going to win it. He came so close. Sigh. Oh well, he's still the king of that court. He has nothing to feel bad about, it was only a few points that separated them.

I agree highly. I was so despondent when Nadal was up two sets. To see Federer gut out the next two sets were absolutely thrilling and I was so proud of him for doing that. Without his comeback the match would have been good even great, but not a classic.
And then that fifth set as it was getting dark and the rain... yeah it definitely surpassed the Borg/McEnroe final of 1980.

For Cheers week we must, I repeat MUST, have a debate over whether Diane or Rebecca was better.
I'm also thankful you guys are including Wings during your "All Things Cheers" week. I never understood why that show never got the love and praise that Cheers and Frasier received. I think it's a great show in its own right. Personally, if I had to choose among the three shows (And all three are favorites!) I'd go with Wings.

With Burn Notice and Flashpoint premiering this week, we at least get a few more summer scripted shows. This summer has been seriously lacking in scripted shows, I guess because of the writers strike this winter. HBO usually has several scripted shows in the summer and thus far nothing. I also miss the 4400.
