The Saturn awards ceremony was held last night, and Lost dominated the television categories with four wins. The drama won the award for Best Network Series and nearly swept the acting categories. Evangeline Lilly lost the Best Actress award to Ghost Whisperer's Jennifer Love Hewitt, last year's winner. Most of the first-time nominees, such as Pushing Daisies and Journeyman, were shut out. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was the only exception; Summer Glau tied for Best Supporting Actress. Comedian Jeffrey Ross hosted the event. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a successful awards season for Lost. A complete list of winners in the television categories follows after the jump.
Best Network Television Series: Lost
Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series: Dexter
Best Presentation on Television: Family Guy: Blue Harvest
Best Actor: Matthew Fox, Lost
Best Actress: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ghost Whisperer
Best Supporting Actor: Michael Emerson, Lost
Best Supporting Actress: Summer Glau, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles; Elizabeth Mitchell, Lost
Best Television Series Release on DVD: Heroes
Best Retro Television Series Release on DVD: Twin Peaks
Are you happy with this year's winners? Who else should have been recognized?

As long as Michael Emerson wins, I'm fine.

The only drop of bitterness: I hope to see him in the "Best actor" category next time. Michael Emerson deserves every award he gets and then some. (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Emmy folks.)

Me too!! He is a great actor, and has already deserved the award. The writers of Lost must be on drugs, and they are way smarter than others in the film industry. Seeing one of the most successful actors like Michael Emerson on Lost proves how professionally the writers and all the other crew members do their jobs. Michael rules!! lol.. his eyes.. the way he looks at someone.. I'm speechless!! lol.

Isn't this is the SATURN awards??!?? Shouldn't the best series in cable for a Saturn award be 'Battlestar Galactica'? (I know Dexter is awesome, but it is NOT SciFi)

Battlestar Galactica has turned into a daytime soap this season...Lost definitely deserves the award this time.

Also:
"The Saturn Award is an award presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films to honor the top works in science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film, television, and home video."
Guessing Dexter was eligible as part of the 'horror' genre...not the best fit, but it's an amazing show anyway.

What I'm wondering is what happened to the award for Best International Series? The nominees were brilliant (Dr Who, Torchwood, Meadowlands/Cape Wrath, Jekyll, Life on Mars, Robin Hood), but I can't find mention of the winner anywhere, not even the Saturn Awards website.

It looks like there was no award given. Maybe they couldn't get enough votes for a quorum? Weird.

I love Lost, but I'm a little mad at the writers for cutting Jerome from 2004. we need to bring him back! http://bringbackjerometolost.com
