"Baracknophobia": The mainstream media likes to blame the blogosphere and Grandma's e-mail forwards for spreading ridiculous rumors about Barack Obama. I guess they've forgotten all that "Barack Obama is a secret Muslim" stuff that they've been spitting for the past year or so. And no, Obama wasn't sworn in with a Qur'an. Michelle Obama has been getting noise from the media for sounding mean too. I'll admit, it was kind of a sick burn when she made Stephen Colbert sing to her only to tell him that Obama's voice is better. I thought that clip of Fox News accusing Obama of plagiarizing Mario Cuomo was too ridiculous to be true, so I decided to dig up some footage that hadn't been cut up by TDS. Nope, still ridiculous."Barack Obama's Vagina: The October Surprise in His Pants": Oh, Obama has a vagina, though. Yeah. Totally true.
"Good Life Crisis": Larry Wilmore filed a field report on the recession's effect on poor Beverly Hills. Won't someone please think of the rich white people?! This was yet another spot-on piece by Mr. Wilmore. These field reports used to be TDS' trademark, and I feel like they haven't done nearly enough in the last year. Then again, seeing people like that Jennifer Tilly wannabe and suffering cosmetic surgeon fills me with intense loathing, so maybe fewer field reports is better for my health.
Speaking of loathing, here's its equally loving buddy, corruption. The night's guest was David Iglesias, promoting In Justice: Inside the Scandal That Rocked the Bush Administration. The discussion revolved around the US attorney firings that made big news a few years ago. There wasn't anything new, but this interview summed things up neatly enough to serve as a crash course for what happened before Alberto Gonzales went on his epic "I do not recall" tour. Way to play to the show's geeky demographic, Mr. Iglesias! "I thought I was working with the Jedi knights and I was working for the Sith lords."
Moment of Zen: I was wondering when Tim Russert's death was going to be addressed. This was a tasteful way to do it. Check out this clip from one of Tim Russert's appearances on TDS, back in the days of the couch.

God, that clip of "plagarism" from Fox was just sick and ridiculous. It was siculous.
Ya gotta love how it took the Daily Show about 30 seconds to actually LOOK at the text of the speech, and show in a nice simple image how stupid Fox is.

Spent some time on the farm with family over the weekend, and I was baffled with how much of the Obama rumors they actually believe.
Those emails had to to be the only my grandma was able to open cause she can't do anything else on the computer.

The interview was awful. Iglesias could not speak more than five words at a time. Jon kept trying to make him talk but it didn't work.

Am I for real? Are you for real? There was nothing political about my comment. I don't know what you think I was saying, but you missed the point.
I watched the interview again and it went better than I remembered, so I apologize to Mr. Iglesias.

Not really a comment on the show itself, but is anyone else getting sick of that Extenze commercial that Comedy Central plays every night, that gets cut off halfway through EVERY NIGHT? Doesn't anyone at CC notice it?
