Here are the weekly TV ratings, by number of viewers.
Um, OK, I had to do a double take (or maybe a triple) when I saw these ratings for Lost. Number 1 for the week?? I knew it would do better since it was the season finale, but the top spot, up 18 spots from last week? That's pretty cool.
The new edition of Password took the number 3 spot. Meanwhile, the number 18 show really kinda baffles me.
1. Lost (ABC)
2. Two and a Half Men (CBS)
3. Million Dollar Password (CBS)
5. NCIS (CBS)
6. Criminal Minds (CBS)
7. CSI: NY (CBS)
8. So You Think You Can Dance - Thurs (FOX)
9. Hell's Kitchen (FOX)
10. So You Think You Can Dance - Weds (FOX)
11. CSI (CBS)
12. Without A Trace (CBS)
13. Rules of Engagement (CBS)
14. 48 Hours Mystery (CBS)
15. Dateline (NBC)
16. Price Is Right (CBS)
17. Cold Case (CBS)
18. NBC Nightly News (NBC)
19. Moment of Truth (FOX)
20. Law and Ordre: SVU (NBC)

Maybe everyone decided to watch the finale live instead of recording it.

My theory is that the News was from Tuesday, ie, the end of the Democratic Primary, and people wanted to hear Obama's speech. He's a good enough speaker that people will do that.
I'm not sure, I go to the Internet for that sort of thing. But it's a theory.

Good it got #1. If it didn't make top 5 I would've probably thrown something at my TV.

The Moment Of Truth, at 19??? They must have made a mistake it should be 91.
It must've been a typo, a typo, a typo
It must've been a typo, it can't be true.
That show is the pits.

Uhm, wasn't Lost one of the only new non-reality shows on last week on all of broadcast television? Given its regular popularity, it is not surprising that it got number 1.

Omegaparti!cle is correct. Why was it surprising that Lost was #1?

Because America has time and time again showed that quality TV doesn't necessarily equate strong ratings. Lost is one such rarity.

Did anyone watch Password? Man, it was lame! No more password clues leading to puzzles answers? Where's the fun?? It's now Millionaire crossed with DOND! Oh Rege!!

"Lost" being #1 for the week isn't at all surprising, given its competition for the week. Its ratings were actually lower than last season's finale.
Still, even if for a week, it's nice to see the show up there at the top!

Did anybody notice there are only 6 reality/game shows in the top-20 this time? Those Nielsen family idiots are getting a little smarter.

lol...the funny things is that NCIS was number 5, and it was a repeat! lol...that show is a ratings juggernaut...The highest rated CBS show next year may well be NCIS...wouldn't THAT be an interesting development? It's the one, and only, procedural that isn't all that procedural, as it comes from that great JAG pedigree...will it be around for 10 years like JAG?
