The fact that most fans blew it out of proportion without actually reading the interview, which was tame aside from that one relatively unsubstantiated racism comment, is the worst part of this whole debacle.

I really hope something happens with his storyline, or at least Walt's. I was jazzed the first season when there were subtle and not-so-subtle hints that Walt had some sort of mind-control thingy going on, and I'd be really disappointed if it isn't somehow explored further.

I hate this character. Hope Michael never comes back. They didn't kill of the 'black characters,' they killed Michael. Rose & Walt--and their associated storylines--are still in play, and I welcome them.

I agree, Micheal's storyline is a joke and the actor is an asshole.

"I came back just to be killed off? I didn't know I was being killed off until shortly before shooting the episode."

He's a dummie. When he returned it was clear that he just came back to die.

I hope we never ever see him again, I can't stand the character and now I can't stand the person.

I would like to see a happy ending...but for Walt not Michael. Maybe Hurley can teach Walt how to play chess with the island dead.

I've just read some comments badmouthing Perrineu's performance or his personality and I can't believe how blind and stupid some of you are.

To tell the truth one of my few reasons to still watch LOST for the fourth season was actually Harold's comeback. I love the actor and his acting on "Oz" was something unbelievable. Actually, his character Michael can directly convey the quality of the whole show. The first season was great! The castaways’ "Robinson Crusoe" thing combined with mystical elements was truly a great cocktail. And Michael's storyline was superb as well. Then, after the primal success of LOST, came the bull..it and off downhill did the plot surrounding Michael and Walt go. I question the whole oversophistication and incredibly annoying plotlines the creators took. For instance the introduction of a mystical French woman, who somehow got on the island and her colleagues were killed off by some virus. She took my major interest in the first season, but what happened then? In seasons 2-4 she has just become secondary, no third-rate character, until her meaningless and absurd death... And the plotline of the second season? The introduction of "The Hatch" was something unearthly. As if it held all the clues to the suspense of the island and then suddenly the altar-hatch explodes and appears to have been nothing important whatsoever! And Desmond's storyline? (I'm shouting now!) A man chooses to sail the seven seas to prove his love and determination and gets stranded on an island and does his best to come back home to his love, who, at the same time, miraculously looks for him all around the world and just can't believe he's dead for hell knows how long... What is this, "Sinbad" and "Odyssey" combined with fairy tales for 3-year-olds? Charley says he can't swim in the first season while in the third he's diving his way to an underwater station, yet still manages to drown after he reaches it? Hurley get introduced with the whole "Number" mystery and since that time the numbers have been addressed so poorly and indifferently like they mean nothing at all! The biggest mystery isn't what exactly do the numbers mean, but how can a half-tonne weighing "dude" survive plane, helicopter crashes, armed skirmishes. Now that is one big, billion dollar worth mystery! Black Swartznegger survives the plane crash for he has a purpose to try and build a church and finally, whilst dying, drop down a carved stick near his corpse which appears to have meant nothing at all! A smoke MONSTER is only able to hurt one marine of the bunch, but some tramps with slingshots can slay all of them? A nondescript "other", who goes wandering in the jungle, becomes one of the most important characters, plus a Rambo clone, able to kill two armed Arab soldiers in a matter of seconds? (I love Rambo, but at the same time think that Stallone is a way better candidate for the part than the Four-eyed Emerson). And most importantly there is nothing to be interested about in LOST anymore, since the main characters have already left the island which I think was/shoud have been the main plotline of the show. The show has changed so dramatically that it lost all the values it had received its "Emmy" for. It now is like Britney Spears, which shaved her head bald, showing a sign of her ultimate career downfall (not that Britney was ever good, though).

Therefore the pathetic storyline of Michael in season four and his lame demise doesn't surprise me at all. I wish Perrineu best of luck in future projects and for people who share some of my thoughts, the gourmets of cinema and TV, I could only recommend buying DVDs of some of the greatest shows ever, like "The Wire", "The Sopranos", "The Corner", "Six Feet Under", "Deadwood", "Rome" (Basically the best of HBO, not that I show any unconditional favouritism to HBO) and to look forward to future projects like "Generation Kill" or movie "Lovely bones". And for those who love “Lost” and hate me to the bone? Go ahead and watch it further, you have your taste and I have mine. That’s just the thing with pop culture, it really is popular, but it isn’t necessarily good…
