As much as I love Futurama, the new DVD movies always leave me thinking about what could have been. Not that there is anything wrong with them, just how much better it would be if the show had received a Family Guy like reprieve and went back to full series form. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, yet. I still hold out hope that if the DVDs do well enough, that door could open up again. Fry and the gang are aging remarkably well, after all.Futurama's Beast with a Billion Backs trailer - VIDEO

I just about found Benders Big Score to be too much of a good thing. I couldn't help thinking I'd rather watch this play out over a couple of half hour episodes, rather than main lining the straight dope.
Anywho can't wait to check out the new one.

I'm one of the few that thought Bender's Big Score was bad Futurama.
However I enjoyed it more after listening to the commentary, it's even better than the movie.
New Futurama is always better than most everything else.

I didn't think Bender's Big Score was funny enough either. Particularly since the time traveling messed with the continuity in The Luck of the Fryish. But the commentary was awesome. Love me some Futurama commentary. And Bender. I'm always up for more Bender.

Love this show! Fantastic to be getting new material. As long as they make them, I'll watch them and buy them.
Only South Park tops it for animated comedy, in my view, and that's only because I have 13 seasons to dip into, rather than 5/6.
Fox you r-tards!

The problem with Bender's Big Score is that they had to format it perfectly so that the complex story could be broken up in to four separate free-standing episodes. The new DVD and the two scheduled to follow will likely suffer from similar pacing flaws.
However, I actually preferred BBS as a single feature-length movie precisely because of the complexity of the story, particularly with all of the forward and backward jumps through time. It would have been harder to follow the threads if I'd only been able to see one half episode per week for four weeks.
But more importantly, I'm looknig forward (hopefully) to another exciting episode of "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad."
