In preparation for tonight's Lost season four finale, this counts as a good thing. The Tube Junkie over at New York Magazine stumbled on to this YouTube gem: all of the the flash-forwards shown in order. I've definitely found myself confused more than once over the course of this season as I've tried to decide which scenes came first, second, and so on. Seeing it all neatly laid out in only eight minutes certainly clears a few things up. Here's my question...
With the introduction of time travel, can any of this be taken at face value? Maybe I'm reaching (as I'm typing this I feel like I might be), but with the level of sophistication that so many of the twists on this show embody, my gut says that maybe... maybe.... this stuff isn't happening in any sort of discernible order. What would that impact? I have no idea. OK... I'm done rambling like one of those Lost nuts who does nothing but try to decipher "what it all means." I'm sure tonight's finale will answer some questions. I hope.

I would tend to agree with you Jonathan. Ever since Ben said "He changed the rules" when his daughter was killed, I've wondered about these little time travel ripples happening. If you remember, when Desmond left the island for that year and went to be with Penny, he had that strange conversation with the shopkeeper about the engagement ring. She argued with him about buying it/not buying it and that THIS time, he wasn't doing what he was supposed to do and how that was going to affect things. I suspect that since Ben's daughter was killed in this timeline, other changes are going to be in store from all the ripples that action will create.
Just my theory but I do think it fits with what clues we've been given regarding other flash forwards. The island has been shown to take action to get what it wants so... we'll see!

Michael, it's so difficult to keep up with it all... allow me to try to clarify.
He didn't leave the island. There was an episode where Desmond experienced stuff that happened in the past, but with his current knowledge/memories. Like a consciousness time travel thing. It was a result of him turning the fail safe key in Season 3.
Desmond's Time line in a nutshell:
> Becomes a Monk
> Meets & falls in Love w/Penny
> Tries to get permission to marry her
> Buys ring from old lady
> Joins Army
> Enters Sailboat race
> Ends up on The Island
> Meets the survivors of the crash
> Uses the fail-safe key, then flashes back to his early days w/ Penny.

I think alot of those things are not in the right order.
Here is how I have mapped out the flash forwards:
1. Oceanic Six Press conference
2. Hurley's bday party
3. Sun buys controlling stock in her fathers company
4. Christians wake
5. Kate on trial
6. Sun and Hurley visit Jins grave (making it on the 1 year anniversary of the crash)
7. Ben wakes up in Tunisia
8. Hurley begins to hallucinate and gets back in the hospital
9. Sayids further assassin work
10. Jack and Kate together, Jack begins to lose it
11. Jack suicide attempt, airport meeting with Kate.

Interesting you mention that.
I have already begun work on editing together the entire show into chronological order. Mapping it out has been an endeavor so far but it shows some amazing flow of things.

I'm not gonna think about this stuff too much. When the last episode airs I'm gonna re-watch every episode that summer of the whole series first to last about 5 times then it should all make sense. It better or I'm gonna be pissed.

You've read it here first - the funeral Jack attends is his own. Something to do with time travel, or cloning, or whatever. Somehow, that Jack died in the ghetto, and he went to see who'd be there.

Then why would Kate want nothing to do with the funeral. If your theory were true I think she would be a little more "how the hell are you dead?" at the airport last season. Plus, I think the funeral director would be a bit confused.
My money is still on Ben being in the coffin. And...Ben will also be at the funeral with Jack. There is your time travel weirdness.
