Reality contestants often complain about how they're portrayed on TV during reunion shows, but how do they react as they're watching each episode? Bravo's gave two of its reality stars, Top Chef's Spike Mendelsohn and Andrew D'Ambrosi, the chance to be filmed as they watched new episodes of the show. Spike has regular viewing parties at his home, and invites his parents as well as fellow contestant Andrew to attend. It's interesting to see Andrew and Spike's moment-by-moment responses, since they don't know how they're going to look or sound and don't have time to prepare a defense. The videos show their knee-jerk reactions to their own edited portrayals, judges' criticisms, and past conflicts.
Three of the Bravotv.com videos are available after the jump. They're definitely worth a look if you're a devoted Top Chef fan.
In this clip, Andrew reflects on one of his many arguments with Lisa, and Lisa texts Spike with an apology for Andrew. It's nice that some of the contestants regret their actions and take the time to make amends.
Clip two focuses on Lisa's infamous sabotage accusation. I was surprised that Spike admitted to possibly messing with her burner by mistake.
The third clip shows Andrew's reaction to the judges' comments during deliberation. I loved his use of the phrase "400% more head-butts."
There are also some videos introducing Spike's parents and explaining the viewing parties, but I thought the moment-by-moment reactions were the most entertaining. All in all, I thought Spike and Andrew's reactions were honest and typical of how anyone would deal with seeing themselves on TV.

I could barely get through the first video. They don't seem any less assholish than on the show. At least Spike isn't wearing a freaking hat.

While I don't deem either of these men the anatomical part outlined in the above comment -- these guys have great futures as chefs, particularly Spike.
