When Sara left CSI, driving out of Las Vegas on her way to who knows what, he left behind a brokenhearted Gil Grissom. The producers of CSI were wise to keep the door open for the character to return, and that's just what's happening -- at least for one show. According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, Jorja Fox will be in the season premiere of CSI. Oh, and she won't be the only former cast mate on the show; so will Gary Dourdan as Warrick.I know, I know -- I can hear you now, how is that possible? Didn't he die in the CSI finale? When we last saw Warrick, he'd been shot twice and left to die in his car. Could the CSI have survived a bullet through the neck? He was slumped over the steering wheel, so he looked dead. And the sheriff shot him a second time -- presumably a death shot to the head since it was an execution.
Ausiello's sources claim that Warrick's return will not be a flashback. He thinks we're in for a "gut wrenching death scene." He could be right, they could go in that direction. However, CSI could think outside the reality box, too. They could go the apparition or ghost route. It wouldn't be the first time; there was the episode a few seasons back where the corpses talked, telling the story of how they died. That was definitely not real, but this is a fictional show and they can take a leap if they feel like it.
Maybe Warrick will appear to viewers, aware that he's dead, but unable to cross over or something like that. Maybe he goes to his funeral or helps solve his murder? Any ideas? Tell us about them in the comments.
As for Jorja, there's no doubt she'll be back to see Gil. Even after leaving Las Vegas, she was in touch with Grissom. She called him on one episode which put a smile on his face, so we can assume the two are still romantically connected.

I love that they are bringing sara back they need to keep her...What needs to happen is Sara needs to come back for the funeral or whatever happens with warrick(hopefully he is alive) but whatever and realize that she needs grissom keep her off the team for awhile but make her grissoms girlfriend for real and show her helping him with investigations then bring her back on the team after they have had time to settle down....SHE NEEDS TO COME BACK!!!!

We'll see Warrick's dead body and later on after the funeral the entire CSI staff will sit down to watch his video will. Because the job of a police forensic scientist is so fraught with danger they're all prepared for their own tragic deaths...

Ok this might sound crazy but I think Warrick will not really die. I think the FEDS will get invloved. This is the mob we are talking about and who knows how high up the food chaing this goes. I think that everyone will be led to beleve that Warrick died. I am not sure how but I think Warrick will pull trough. I do not think this is over yet. I do not think he will be a ghost or anything like that. Something is cooking up at that writers desk but not sure what but I can tell you that Warrick will be alive next season.

I have agree, Jorja will be back to mourn and possibly investigate the death of Warrick, but I don't think his murder will be wrapped up in one episode. I'm sure the undersheriff will make it hard for the CSI team.

I Really hope the show does not become a Grissom/ Sara show, Hopefully we will get to see how the whole team deals with this, Nick after all was Warrick's best friend.
I just pray that its not put on the back burner like so many other storys.

I AM going to miss Warrick, though. Gary Dourdan was a definate draw. They had/have an excellent cast. I can't wait for the show to continue!

I agree that Dourdan will be back as they have to deal with either his dying as the second shot seemed to be angled pretty low to be a head shot or his death and autopsy.
I would imagine that Dourdan will get jail time so keeping him alive would gain nothing as his availability guest spots next year would be pretty slim.
Why couldn't they have killed off Gil's "daughter with benefits" instead of Dourdan? They could have had him go off to work for another lab. Electra is just a waste of airtime.

You should also think about the chance that Warrick will be rescued, but due to massive blood loss or whatever he slips into coma. They can keep him there as long as they want, for the duration of Dourdan's jail time, and once he's free bring him back to 'life'. Alas, not very happy aby Jorja making a reappearance.

I think having Sara come back for Warrick's funeral will bring the cycle full circle - she first appeared in an episode where Grissom asked her to investigate why Warrick left Holly Gribbs at a crime scene alone while he palced a sports bet. Maybe Warrick can now really have some peace in his life, as Sara helps to nail his killer.
