Word on the street yesterday was that the 90210 spin-off executive producers were thinking of actor Rob Estes to portray Harry Mills, a father who relocates his family in Beverly Hills to take care of his alcoholic mother. The show had yet to find an actor to play the pivotal role and they were now getting ready to just hand it on a silver platter to a "name" actor.
The stars quickly aligned (read here that Rob Estes became available since ABC canceled Women's Murder Club) and the actor will join the already beautiful 90210 cast.
Rob Estes is no stranger to the zip code since he starred as Kyle McBride in the first 90210 spin-off, Melrose Place. In this new spin-off, the character of Harry Mills will end up becoming West Beverly High's new principal where Kelly Taylor, a character from the original series, will work as a guidance counselor.
Personally, I'm happy with the casting. Estes showed us that he can play characters that are leaders (for example, his latest role on WMC) so he should pull off the role of a principal and, let's admit it, he's easy on the eye. What do you think of this casting? Agree or not? Will Estes be one of the reasons why you'll tune in to watch the spin-off?
