Melora Hardin, who plays Jan on NBC's The Office, recently opened up to TV Guide about her character, office romances, "Miley-gate," and The Office finale. Here's a few tidbits from the interview: - About Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Hardin says that she's acting like a normal fifteen-year-old and "I think it's more a question of her handlers protecting her image."
- Melora Hardin also talks about her new movie (which her husband wrote and she directed) called You. It's a coming of age story about a father and daughter. Hardin, her husband, her parents, and her children are in it.
- Hardin admits that she herself has had an office relationship. Her husband! She met him at a wrap party, "So I guess you could consider that an office romance, being that wrap parties are part of my office setting."
- About The Office season finale, Hardin says that you have to watch tonight. She's sworn to secrecy; she reveals only this: "But the season finale is when people need to tune in, because there's lot of surprises, but we may see Jan. Jan's not going away."
- About her character, Hardin says that she thinks people can relate to her, "I think audiences get her. Sometimes people say they think she's 'evil.' I don't get that at all." Now, I don't think Jan is evil, but she's definitely my least favorite character on the show and I wouldn't say that I completely "get" her. Perhaps, it's because I like Michael so much and I think Jan's past abuse of him is a bit much. What do you think? Do you "get" Jan's character?
The Office season finale airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET / PT on NBC.

I get that she's a mental nutbag.

Jan isn't evil. However after watching the dinner party episode it's pretty obvious she's bat-**** insane.

I think Jan is struggling to find herself in the face of overwhelming change. This frustration manifests itself as self conscious nature and aggression.

Sure I totally "get" her. She's a certain kind of woman. The kind I would NEVER EVER date. But I understand everything she does. She would fit perfectly on "Beauty and the Geek". In fact she and Michael could've met there.
