Moonlight is not going to just go away quietly and join that long list of one-and-done shows. People keep saying it's over, but apparently not everyone is listening. The latest rumor, from Nikki Finke's blog, has the show landing at the CW. And how would that work, considering that the CW has already made their schedule? I'm glad you asked.
You may recall a post from a few days ago about the network throwing in the towel on Sunday nights. That has now been confirmed with their upfront announcements. Sundays have now been outsourced. Moonlight comes back into the picture as a possibility to fill one of those two hours for Media Rights Capital, the new programmers for Sunday nights. If they could get even 60 to 70 percent of the show's viewers to make the move with them, it could be the most watched show on the network. Something that sounds very plausible given the loyal following the show has developed. It's still firmly in long-shot territory, but has the makings of quite a story.

Why not throw Jericho with it and that would be another 6-8 million more viewers. Them two shows would do good together.

Isn't Moonlight produced by Warner Brothers? The CW seems like a logical move if that's so.
Logical or not, I hope it survives. Started off "meh", ended up really good.

Yes! I'll watch it on any network and any time slot! Count me in. This could be a HUGE break for one of the cable channels. They all need programs with regular followings to survive. CW is a wannabe at this point and could use a hit. SciFi would be a great fit, but the possibilities are numerous. But the move has to be made FAST to keep the cast and sets together.

I really hope Moonlight can be saved. If not on CW, what about Sci Fi? That would be a great fit for them, I would think.
Years ago, when CBS canceled Forever Knight, Sci Fi picked it up for a long run.

That would be a brilliant move as there's nothing much to watch on Sunday (for me anyway).

Come on guys, if Jericho couldn't be saved then Moonlight definitely has no chance, how many times have we heard these rumors of another network maybe somewhere somehow picking up a show after its been canceled and how many times does it actually happen, move on and be thankful they even aired the entire season.

I sincerely hope the CW does pick up Moonlight. Moonlight did consistently win its time slot on CBS! So from where is this issue of sagging ratings coming? Isn't that the goal to win the time slot? Friday night at 9pm is the death slot and Moonlight prevailed! This is such an unsuspected blow to so many fans. I am so disappointed in CBS.
I think the entire Nielsen ratings system is way out of date and not representative of what people are watching. Out of all the thousands of people on the fan boards, I do not know of one that said they are a Nielsen family and have their vote counted. There should be a way for the networks to obtain actual viewing data from the cable and dish companies to have more accurate and representative reporting.
Now, wouldn't that be ironic if the CW put Moonlight in the Friday 9pm slot and beat out the CBS show that replaced Moonlight? I'd love it!!!

Umm ... Why would they bring in a cheap knock-off of a show (Angel) they canceled a few years ago?

If CW does in fact add Moonlight to their fall sked-my wife and I will absolutely follow. The show is very well written and the cast is excellent. shame on CBS for pulling ther pin on a very good show.
You would think that with the writers strike this past season, the nets would have given a few of their new programs more of an extended chance.

I so agree about the Nielson rating system. It's antiquated.
I know of only one person who has ever been chosen to be a Nielson viewer. And they don't even LIKE TV at all!
How absurd.
I watch a LOT of shows, mostly all recorded. I used to record everything on tape, but now there are DVRs.
The BEST invention ever! I would love to be a Nielson viewer.

Keep Moonlight alive !! Vampires don't die. We love Alex and can't live without him. Unfortunately, we can't live WITH him either.Get rid of the cheap reality shows with the dumb people on them.
