Okay, let's get this out of the way first. No, Heidi wasn't there. No, Spencer wasn't there. Yes, that's totally their style. And yes, I was kind of bummed out. Speaking of bummed out, it was freezing in Beverly Hills last night. MTV rented the outside of this swanky mansion but here's the catch, nothing was going on inside. So, the press had to freeze for three hours while we waited to talk to the stars of The Hills. Also, the port-o-potties MTV set up for us were super classy. Come on! There had to be at least fifteen bathrooms in that house.
For what happened at the live red carpet event before the big season finale, read on past the jump. I got to talk to Chiara Kramer, "Lo" Bosworth, and Stephanie Pratt.
MTV gave viewers unprecedented access by throwing a Live from The Hills season finale. The cast walked the red carpet and joined fans on the beautiful terrace of a mansion in Beverly Hills for the event. Before the actual season finale, your favorite LA girls were interviewed to catch fans up on the latest drama. And, after the event, Usher (yes, the Ush-man himself) was there to perform his single "Love in the Club."
And now, I give you "OMG from the Red Carpet."
First I got to talk to Chiara Kramer who is sporting some new bangs. She's excited for a fourth season of The Hills (can you believe this show has been on that long?). Chiara also hopes that she'll be on the show a bit more. She's been hanging out more with Audrina and getting closer with her. I asked if she'd like to live with Audrina and Chiara replied that while she'd love to live with her, but she doesn't think it will happen. However, she says that she thinks the two of them would make great roommates because they both like a certain level of neatness and cleanliness.
I also asked Chiara about Audrina's new movie Into the Blue 2. Chiara didn't realize that Audrina had actually signed on to do that movie. (Can just interject something? Why wouldn't she? Audrina is on a reality show on a cable network. Like doing a feature film to extend her fifteen minutes of fame would be a bad thing? Like she has so many other choices? Okay, done ranting.) But, Chiara did mention that if Audrina is taping her film during season four of The Hills, we will probably see some of Audrina on the set.
As for what it's like to have her life taped, Chiara admits that it's weird. She says she tries not to drink too much when they are filming. She also mentioned that she felt weird about talking about her then roommates on the show. Chiara explains that "it's not like I said anything I wouldn't say to their faces," but she felt bad all the same. Chiara was having a conversation about moving out when she hadn't even consulted her real-life roommates about the situation.
Next up was Lauren "Lo" Bosworth. She was wearing an LC dress and lots of pretty gold jewelry. That's nice of her to pimp her friend's designs. She, too, was cold. "It's May 12th and it's freezing!," she gushed. When asked what was the difference between New York and Los Angeles style, "Lo" said that NY is more casual. While LA isn't high fashion all the time, the "girls here work it out a lot more."
"Lo" also mentioned that she's finishing up her art history degree at UCLA. She whined, "going to school has been really hard for me." Well, I'm glad it will be over for her soon.
Finally, I got to talk to Stephanie Pratt, Spencer's sister. She's worried about when Heidi and her brother will forgive her. In fact, she seemed a little tweaked about it. She's pysched for the fourth season and wants to be on the show more. However, Stephanie doesn't know how much she'll be involved because of Heidi and her brother. Speaking of Spencer Pratt, I asked her about having such an outspoken brother (I think I'm being kind with "outspoken"). She says that he's edited a certain way and he's a really nice guy. She says that both of them are very sarcastic. In fact, they get their sarcastic sense of humor from their mother, according to Stephanie.
I asked Stephanie if it was weird to have cameras follow her around. She responded that "taping the show is easy. It's watching it that's hard." Then she said, "I had bangs like this for like five episodes" and motioned to her forehead. I want to say something snarky about this but she was really sweet so I'll refrain.
Season four of The Hills premiered in August 2008 and will run for 19 episodes. Are you excited for the new season?

i've been a the hills evangelist for years now but im finally done. i'll likely continue watching but im not going to speak the gospel of LC anymore. the show has managed to get more absurd and ridiculous (which didnt seem possible) and it finally crossed the line from fun to annoying.
