While Project Runway may be switching to Lifetime next year, the creators of the show are staying put. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz have given first look to any new projects of theirs to NBC Universal. As a result, the duo had a choice of either going to Lifetime or staying with NBC.Last year, the Weinstein Company made a deal with Lifetime for $150 million to broadcast five years of the hit reality show. Culforth and Lipsitz, whose production company is called Magical Elves, acknowledged the tough choice they had to make.
"This was kind of a crossroads," Cutforth said. "It was a difficult decision to leave a show that to a large degree made our name and has been a big part of our company for a long time. But it really did seem like this was the right time to part ways."
With rare exception, when the creator leaves a show it usually goes downhill shortly thereafter. Hopefully for Lifetime, Project Runway will be the exception rather than the rule.

My guess is that Heidi will also not go, the show might as well be called something totally different, it won't be the same and that's unfortunate.

other than the name "project runway" what does the weinstein company really own?? What is stopping bravo from starting a new reality design competition show starring tim gunn and heidi klum called "top fashion"?? WC may own the trademark to some of heidi's taglines but with all these reality clones out there (apprentice, top chef, top design...) there is no way harvey can try and say he owns the rights to that
