After such an episode, I think the only thing we can say is "OMFG."
Who? What? When? How? Why? Before watching this week's episode, I knew I would learn about Serena's big secret and I had a hunch it was murder because for her to not spill the beans to anyone thus far, it had to be a MAJOR secret. Even if my prediction was accurate, I was not prepared for that reveal. When Serena said the words "I killed someone," it felt like a bomb dropped in my living room. "OMFG" was the only thing that came out of my mouth. And then, I started to think back to that video Georgina sent Serena. It wasn't a sex tape like I (and I'm sure many of you) first thought it was. It is the taping of the killing.
We only heard bits and pieces of the action that was being filmed but it sounded like Georgina, Serena, a guy and I think a third woman. I'm not sure about the latter but it sounded like there was a third female voice. Maybe there was even another person, tied to the bed, not able to speak, etc. Until we see the video ourselves, who knows, right?
Even if Serena was a bad girl over a year ago, I don't think she would have been able to do such a thing willingly. Georgina probably drugged her. And if Georgina drugged Serena back then to commit the ultimate crime, maybe she repeated the ordeal last week? We know she spiked Serena's drink and that Serena doesn't remember a thing. So who knows, maybe there is a second killing? The suspense is killing me! Good thing this episode is not the season finale (with such a ending it could very well have been).
As for the second bombshell of the episode, Eric was outed. This was less of a OMG moment since we knew exactly who would be outed and how but the aftermath was interesting to watch. As expected, Lily was shaken by the news but ultimately came to her senses and accepted her son for who he is. It was a really touching scene when she told Eric that she was scared and that he comforted her. Serena reacted really well to the news and was quite supportive. What I enjoyed was seeing Eric hold his own and decide to deal with Asher in front of everyone. I wanted to slap and shake Asher in order to put some sense into him. Asher not only hurt Jenny by using her that way but he also hurt Eric and, in the end, himself. It's not an easy thing to accept your sexual orientation and reveal it to the world but using people as a cover is not the right way to deal with it. Asher deserved what happened to him at the party.
Other tidbits of interest:
- Rufus and Lily bonded as she was planning her wedding. Even if the scene where Rufus saw Lily in the wedding dress was a bit cliché, it was a charming scene that reaffirmed his feelings for her. If Lily does walk down the aisle by the end of the season, I sense a short marriage with the elder Bass and an eventual Rufus and Lily relationship.
- In last week's poll, 82% of voters said that Blair deserved to be Queen B. Well, it turns out your wish was granted. I prefer her to be on top since it's not really Jenny's cup of tea but I'm not happy at the way Jenny was dethroned. But I guess it was needed for Jenny to come back to her roots and stop acting like someone she is not. I wonder if Jenny will go back to being herself or will try to fit in the lead group.

I voted for "Other" because the big reveal to me was Asher being such a douche. I expected him to really be a nice guy who just couldn't deal being gay. Instead he's this sniveling little coward who used Jenny and hurt Eric. Nevermind him spreading the rumor that he tooks Jenny's virginity, but him calling Eric the gay slur was where I drew the line. What a fool.
Best moment of the episode: Eric confronting Asher and then telling Blair to send the pics/emails to GG. That takes BALLS. Go Eric!

i liked Eric and Serena's conversation at the beginning about Gossip Girl and gossip in general. It was clever of the writers to have Eric say that at one point everyone thought HE was Gossip Girl - which, according to alot of blog comments, quite a few people thought he could be.

What can I say? It's only geting better! I'm slightly confused over one thing though... Cuz in last week's episode, Serena said 'If I go down, you go down with me' or something to G. So if G is involved in it, more then just the "director of S's sex tape then why would she tell everybody? And why now? What was the reason for her coming back, not sooner, not later....
Well this episode did leave me with a lot of questions. I can't belive what I'm saying now but I'm sure I'll be searching for spoilers like a freak!

I've no doubt G did the actual murder (however it happened) and then set it up somehow so Serena would think she did it. (Probably after she came to or sobered up.) Serena is too nice a character to have a real murder hanging over her head, unless it was totally self-protection from a psycho or something. But I'm going with G did the murder (unless there wasn't one really).

I think the murder was an accident. They were all partying and someone overdosed. Or maybe a boy died during some kinky sex. Georgina is evil, but to kill someone on purpose? I don't know yet.

The murder thing was too predictable. I was thinking that maybe the tape was from the nbSAT and it shows S cheating on dan with the guy. And maybe the murder isn't really on tape at all. But I also think either G is the real murderer or it was an accident but she brainwashed S into thinking it was her fault so she would always have leverage over her. Why are you so evil, Michelle Trachtenberg!

someone died and serena probably thinks (or is actually is) partially responsible. like if i gave my friend a bump and he died i would say (if i was a 16 year old spoiled girl) that "i killed someone" when in fact the cocaine killed him. its not like she took a knife and stabbed him in the heart or something.
none the less, im all up in gossip girl's shit.

Whatever went down it was something outrageous.
Serena was complaining of her being really hot(S&M? Leather and Whips?). Before the situation escalated into something where Serena freaked out and the "Accident" happened.
Can't wait til next Monday.
