Exactly. Serving Gina up to experts right now wouldn't teach her a damn thing, and watching her lose wouldn't advance the sport in any way. Besides, Julie Kedzie was tough, if not very skilled, and that was a hell of a fight for two women who didn't know jack on the ground.

Gina is going to be a hell of a fighter one day soon, and she's the perfect face for female MMA. She's pretty, looks good in gym or street clothes and can punch your face in. She's well-spoken and respectful of her opponents and the sport. If grooming her more slowly than you would another young, inexperienced fighter is wrong, then screw it. She's good for the sport as a whole, and will soon have the skill to back up her budding rep.

Randy Couture's camp is training her. She's going to be a ground & pound expert soon.

You can dislike Star Trek, but you would have to admit, at the very least, that it has artistic merit. MMA is pure, unadulterated dreck. It has not value whatsoever, except to take advantage of the baseist instincts of the viewer.

Please, if someone pointing out the lack of worth in watching two muscled men throw themselves at each other makes them an asshole, you must have very thin skin. Please don't venture into the seedier corners of the internet, as I fear you will be scarred for life.

So please, explain the artistic merit of MMA. Come on, there has to be some redeeming quality to the bloodsport. At least it is a lot closer to real fighting than WWF, I'll give them that. But is it worth five minutes of my time (or anybody else who values their life and doesn't want to waste it), no, I don't think so.

I can just as easily say that the training, dedication, and condition of the athletes in MMA has an artistic merit, just like a dancer has artistic merit. It does not mean it's right, nor does it mean it's wrong. All it means is that you're trying to control what I can watch.
