Allison told you a couple of months ago about the possibility of Family Guy's Cleveland getting his own spinoff show. Well now it looks like that's going to be a reality (not a reality show, but a cartoon ... oh, you know what I mean).
The show, titled Cleveland, is expected to get a 13 episode order when FOX announces its fall schedule at its upfront in a couple of weeks (TV Squad will have complete coverage of all of the upfronts, of course). No word on whether or not the character will stay on Family Guy too. I wonder if the show will be set in the same town as Family Guy? Maybe they'll even have epic two part shows, with each part on a different show.
In other FOX news, the network could also pick up two other animated shows: Sit Down, Shut Up and The Pitts. Wait, wasn't The Pitts a live action show that FOX had a few years ago?

If "The Pitts" is a show I think it is then yes it was a live action show, and yes they might redo it in cartoon form.

Also, isn't there another bad FOX sitcom on Sunday nights. I imagine that would be moved or canceled. I still can't imagine this being a good show. I don't see the team that does Family Guy doing well with the character. Family Guy has become to stale and tired(blah blah blah manatees) and I never thought American Dad was any good.

Are you people serious? American Dad is far superior to Family Guy week after week. I sit there on my couch hoping for some laughs when watching Family Guy (before the cancellation it was an amazing show, after, it's been mediocre at best) and all I get are long uncomfortable moments like the stupid sequence with Peter trying to get the dead Frog out of Chris's window. American Dad has plot-lines, funny satire about the American government and the "War on Terror" and isn't just a bunch of stupid random references.

THE PITTS was a pitiful excuse for a live sitcom, but the humor would work in animated form.
SIMPSONS writer Mike Scully was responsible. It looked to me as though FOX put the show into production for no other reason than they wanted to keep Mike happy.
Sometimes the best minds come up with bad ideas.
There is no truth to the rumor that truth in advertising rules required FOX to call the show THE PITTS.

The only way Cleveland will work is if they find an original premise for it. If it is just a second Family Guy with the cutaway jokes and random pop culture jokes, why bother? Just make twice as many episodes of Family Guy and show an hour a week. If the show isn't like Family Guy and just an excuse to give Seth more money, again, why bother? American Dad is still around to do that job.
The best thing they could do is make Cleveland a parody of 70s sitcoms like All In The Family, Three's Company, and Sanford And Son complete with laugh track and processed look and go all the way with it. The Family Guy staff obviously already know their stuff and love these shows, I would watch their homage to them.
