(S01E15) "I made one mistake. It doesn't mean I need a human ankle monitor." - Jenny
Back in early February, I told you what I thought of Gossip Girl so far. Starting this week, I'll review GG on a weekly basis. What an episode to start reviews with! Since I've never read the books the series is based on, I had no idea who Georgina Sparks was but I had a hunch that she was not daddy's little girl. I didn't expect her to be so twisted and evil.
Oh, the drama Georgina brings! (Note that she'll continue to bring drama for three more episodes.) She caused chaos last week with her "gifts" and continued wrecking havoc this week by trying to have Serena go back to her old ways. Georgina has serious issues to deal with; she drinks, she uses drugs, she acts out, she back stabs, she drugs her friends (well, she at least drugged a friend), etc. According to Chuck's sources, Georgina should have been in Switzerland. Could it be that the young woman also ran away from where she is really supposed to be? Kudos to the casting crew for having Michelle Trachtenberg agree to this four-episode gig. She gave a very good performance that totally made me believe in Georgina and hate her like I was supposed to.
Even if Georgina brings Serena's bad side, I'm happy to see her in NYC because it means we may learn the real reason why Serena had to leave the city. Serena should follow Chuck's suggestion and tell the truth to Dan. The latter was "Desperately Seeking Serena" this week and has yet to find the girl he fell in love with. If Serena doesn't get her act together soon (and her speech to Georgina at the end of the episode shows that she wants to), she may lose Dan to... Sarah! I must admit that I didn't see that one coming but when the scene unfold, I was not surprised to see a pissed off Georgina go for Serena's man.
This was a big episode for young Jenny too. It's not easy for her to try to remain Queen B when being grounded and having a human ankle bracelet (aka Rufus) follow her around. Rufus showed once again how a great dad he is. He cares about his kids a lot and knows that he must spend time with Jenny in order to bring her back down to earth. Since Blair bonded with the girls during their little Nelly project, Asher better be filthy rich to get Jenny back on the throne. My little finger tells me that Asher will turn out to be a jester and not the king Jenny wants/needs him to be.
Other tidbits of interest:
- Chuck was totally being Chuck when he hired those people to take the SATs for himself and Serena. However, he showed he could be a true friend by bailing her out twice.
- Nate and Vanessa look very good together. After seeing this episode, I want them to succeed as a couple. Of course, only time will tell if I'll change my mind and if they'll work out.
- Asher totally knows how to win parents over. I wonder how many times before he said his "I wish more parents would ground their kids" speech.
- "If I go down, you go down with me." - A pissed off Serena to Georgina

Yah!!! for finally reviewing Gossip Girl. It is the only show I watch that doesn't get a review on here. Even thou I missed half-the episode, I still can't wait until next week to see why Serena really left town.
Thanks Isabelle. Can't for the upcoming weeks.

Well I knew half of the gay spoiler and now I know the other half.
What I'm wondering is why isn't this show on another night like it use to be? Monday at 8 pm.... I have HIMYM, DWTS, Bones and now GGirl. No wonder the ratings weren't too hot this week. Didn't this use to be a Tues or Wed night show? Oh.... can't go up against American Idol.... so why not 9 pm on Tues or 8 pm on Wed?

I keep finding on any given night that all the shows I might watch are during the same time slot.

Finally a weekly review for one of the best shows on television! It's about time GG gets recognized for its addictive-ness!
Speaking of guilty pleasures, now all you need is a review for One Tree Hill, and this will be the best website ever.

I don't know if they killed someone, but for sure what they did must be something illegal for Serena to panic like that.

So I'm not going crazy. I thought "Hey! When did TVsquad review Gossip Girl? And where was their review of last week's episode?!"
I like watching this show not only because it's a guilty pleasure, but because all the Manhattan scenes remind me of my high school days and all the Brooklyn scenes (well just the Communitea cafe) are shot like two blocks away from where I work now. Yay!
Anyways for THIS episode:
- I get that Dan's frustrated and probably stressed about future/college/SATs, but he just seems so sensitive whenever Serena is NOT perfect. Way to have insane standards.
- Asher is probably too good to be true.
- Vanessa and Nate look FANTASTIC together. With this one episode they've become my OTP for this show. And even though it's just a bit too quick and too forced, I'll chalk it up to the Writer's Strike.
- Chuck may be a snake, but he's a pretty good brother.
- LOVED the reactions of Dan and Blair when they both see Vanessa and Nate. Perfection.

Blech. Michelle Trachtenberg brought nothing to "Buffy" and she brings nothing to "Gossip Girl." I hated Georgina, and not in a "love to hate her" kind of way. I just found her tiresome and predictable--and oh how I hate Trachtenberg's nasal whine.
I can't wait until this arc is over.

I think Jenny needs to be queen bee because Blair is just totally annoying. She is the epitome of the girl you hate in high school, not the girl you love to hate. I want someone, anyone to beat Blair.

No way! Jenny is ridiculously annoying and only a freshman! I mean think about it--these senior girls are following around a freshman?! She can't live up to the role and responsibilities that Blair has/had as Queen Bee, and, like I said earlier, is just irritating. I hope she gets with this Asher character...maybe she will forget about Blair and co...but maybe he will be friends with those girls and lead Jenny right back to them...?

I'm so glad that GG episodes are finally being reviewed on this website!
A couple things...
-Dan really annoys me. He needs to get off his high horse sometimes.
-I think Serena and Eric are going to be good for Chuck. He's going to be very loyal to them, if this marriage comes through between Bart and..what's her name? Although, I hope they continue with his devilish ways. Evil Chuck is fantastic!
-I agree with a previous poster in which Michelle T. playing Georgina does nothing for me. I still see her as annoying Dawn on Buffy. I was disappointed to hear she was cast for this role.

georgia slipped drugs and alcohol into serenas drink at the end of their freshman year at the sheperds wedding. serena was so messedup and didnt even know what she was doing or what was happening the whole time which is why she had sex with nate, her best friends boyfriend and had a 3some with georgia and mr sheperd(yes, at his own wedding) georgia was jealous of blair and serenas friendship because she wanted to be serenas one and only BFF so she told serena to hookup with nate to ruin their friendship. then at one point during the wedding regina set up the plan for a 3some with her, serena. im pretty sure the only reason he even had the 3 some was because regina had also slipped drugs into his drink too but im not sure if it was that or he just was an asshole who cheats on his wife on their wedding day with two 14 year old girls. whatever the case is they regina and mr sheperd decide to meet at a certain time and regina doesnt even tell serena what they are going to be doing but brings her with her and says theyre going to have some fun. serena on the other hand who can barely walk ends up finding it fun to hookup with one of her favorite friends regina and a man who is at his own wedding then when serena goes in the bathroom to puke from the drugs and alcohol(which she thinks is just alcohol) georgia talks to mr sheperd and he asks her if they could do these really freaky things that pleasure him and record the whole thing, georgia says yes im down thats when the video tape georgia sent serena starts in the last episode.
mr sheperd- "are you sure serenas down'
georgia- "it's serena! shes down for anything"
serena -"well if it isnt the new mr and mrs sheperd!"
mr sheperd first of all wanted the 3some in the shower and the things mr sheperd starts doing to serena make her feel sick and he wont stop making the water hotter or let them go so georgia lips to her "lets kill him". they end up killing him and leaving him there and the next day when serena wakes up she feels like she cant live her life anymore after having sex with nate, having a 3some, and killing someone when she talks to georgia about what happened is when she finally realizes georgia is evil because georgia doesnt care about any of the things that happened and doesnt feel bad. serena says she needs to leave now she cant live here anymore because her life if ruin and georgia agrees they should leave but only so that when the cops ask people at the wedding questions or start testing dna and findingout things they cant be here incase of getting caught. serena lies to georgia so that they wont have to go to the same boarding school because serena wants to become a good person again and cant forgive herself for what she did, while at boarding school she never answers any of georgias emails or calls. when eric tries to kill himself she goes back to the city and after her and blair become friends again, she starts going out with dan and has no more drama left is when georgia shows up and wants to ruin her life because serena dropped her as a friend, lied about which boarding school so they wouldnt end up at the same one and has a good life back at the city with her old friends and a new boyfriend when georgia doesnt have any of that. georgia is so messed up because her parents dont care about her and are never even around thats why she rebeled so much freshman year and started having sex and doing drugs. now shes a total physco.
