The failure of Secret Talents of the Stars has had ripple effects on the CBS prime time schedule. With Big Brother coming to an end and Secret Talents unable to make it past one episode, the return of Shark, which was going to come back on Tuesdays at 10 p.m., will now return on Tuesday at 9 p.m. for three broadcasts beginning April 29. Had Secret Talents worked, CBS wouldn't be scrambling on Tuesdays. The CBS Tuesday lineup for next Tuesday, therefore, will be NCIS, Shark and a rerun of CSI. Then on May 6, it'll be NCIS, Shark and a CSI: Miami rerun. On May 13, NCIS, Shark and a Criminal Minds rerun.
What'll be interesting for Shark fans -- and TV geeks in general like us -- will be to see exactly how well the James Woods legal drama performs with a strong lead in like NCIS. Even the reruns scheduled to follow the three episodes are all strong support. Will this Tuesday hammock experiment be advantageous to Shark, securing the kind of Nielsen numbers that will be a deciding factor in the show's renewal for next season?
CBS is probably hoping so. Tuesday has been a major problem for the network, especially at 10. This season's highly anticipated Jimmy Smits' series, Cane, failed to catch fire. In previous years, Smith with Ray Liotta and Jonny Miller couldn't cut it, and neither could the Stanley Tucci medical drama 3 lbs. Stanley's taken his doctor's coat to ER instead.
One more thought: CBS likely moved Shark to 9 so they can avoid pitting it up against Law & Order: SVU. The NBC cop show's April 29 episode is the special Robin Williams guest appearance, in honor of SVU's 200th episode.

CBS - The place for your favorite reruns. That seems to be their answer for everything. Hurry up and cancel the new shows so we can pile on the reruns. It's the stupid Nielsen families fault for constantly watching the reruns. Most of the time they don't even realize they've already seen it before.

CBS was going to do reruns of the unit, according to the DVR, at 9pm on Tuesdays. I guess that's not happening any longer? Bummer!

They'll probably cancel The Unit and replace it with an alphabet show rerun. They probably have a wheel they spin or a dart board or a monkey points to a picture on the wall as their system to decide which rerun they decide to show. If they cancel The Unit I'm gonna be pissed.

Wasn't the last show that CBS had in that "third hour" time slot on Tuesdays to last more than one season (besides "The Amazing Race" which CBS should keep around like you keep around a strong utility player that can fill any slot) "Judging Amy"?

Why not broadcast and enjoy Viva Laughlin, and those original unaired episodes, instead of repeats of tired shows? At least it would be something new and different.

Let's see... With House no longer being on Tuesday thanks to that train wreck that is Hell's Kitchen, and That Best of SNL thingy on NBC, on whatever the heck ABC has on...
People might actually watch this mediocre legal drama that the only thing that has going for it is Jerri Ryan.
