At the end of March, gossip columnist Michael Ausiello from TV Guide reported that a male character on The CW's Gossip Girl would come out of the closet and that this revelation would significantly impact the lives of the other characters. Since then, fans of the series have been speculating about who could that character be. Fans of the books will recall that Chuck is presumed gay and that Dan questions his sexuality. However, neither are the person Ausiello was referring to (note that there are no plans to have Dan go down that path on the TV series at this point). Want to know who it is?
Spoilers coming up!
E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos revealed the name of said gay character today. I must say that's it is whom I thought it would be mostly because we never saw the character show interest in the other sex. The answer: Eric van der Woodsen.
Kristin adds that Eric will be outed when he is caught making out with Jenny's rich new boyfriend, Asher Hornsby! This revelation will more than likely happen in the May 5 episode titled "All About My Brother" since the official description of the episode says "Dan (Penn Badgley) witnesses Jenny's new boyfriend, Asher (guest star Jesse Swenson), cheating on her, but Jenny refuses to listen to her brother's warning."
Gossip Girl airs Mondays on The CW.

And this "big news" comes as a surprise to...no one! I've had Eric pegged from day one. He reminds me of Chrissy Crocker (Leave Britney alone RIGHT NOW!), and has always seemed "gayer than a handbag full of rainbows." Would have been more shocking if it had been one of the other male characters, and more interesting if it had been Jenny's dad! He's hot! What shocks me more is that no one has ever brought up the irresponsible underaged drinking that goes on constantly! These are supposed to be high school kids, right?!?!

So 1,908 people watch the show on The CW? That doesn't mean it should be reviewed.
Greek on the other hand should be renewed.

There are many shows that TV Squad should review but doesn't.

I meant reviewed.
But yeah, there are a lot of shows that aren't reviewed here for reasons no one understands.

This is no shocker and they had him following Chuck around like a puppy the other night so you can see where this story line is going.
I agree.... I think Gossip Girl deserves more coverage here. I only started watching it because Kristin Bell was doing the voice overs (part of my VM's denial thing) and got hooked right away.

In the books Eric isn't in high school. He is in college and very much straight. He even goes on vacation with blair and serena and ends up dating blair for a while. A lot of fans of the books were upset when that was not the case in the show.
I'm still waiting for nate and jenny to start dating that was one of my fave parts in the books.
And the person complaining about the underage drinking - newsflash teens drink. Sure, in real life they sit at the hotel bar sipping cosmos with friends but they do hang out friends houses are on the weekend and do keg stands, drink until their tummy aches, ya da da. The only difference is - this is television so you are bound to see it.
The books are "sex and the city" for the younger set. So, there will be sex, drugs and even a little bit of rock n roll if rufus has anything to do with it.
