If you're sick of hearing about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, then this should come as welcome news. According to TV Newser, the North Carolina Democratic Party has canceled a scheduled debate between the two remaining candidates. It was set to air on CBS. Katie Couric and Bob Schieffer were scheduled to moderate. It would have probably earned decent ratings, too, since CBS planned to air the hour long debate following an episode of 60 Minutes.
According to the NCDP website, the debate was canceled due to "time constraints and logistical issues." I suppose that makes sense. Both Clinton and Obama are running around like crazy in an effort to secure last minute votes during the final Democratic primaries. Pennsylvania's is today.
I'm not so sure this is as big a loss as CBS thinks. At this point, who would have expected there to be two Democrats running strong? Most probably assumed that by now there would be a presumptive nominee to start squaring off against John McCain. There isn't, though, and both candidates are saturating the evening news. I feel like I know where they each stand at this point, so I'm not even sure if I would have even watched the debate. Would you have?

After the mess that the ABC "debate" was, you better wear a flag pin or the terrorists win, it's good they canceled.
And there have been 20 debates and 1 mess thing on ABC, that's enough.

Even the Democrats hate Katie Couric. They would rather not debate then have her moderate.
Actually it was earlier reported on the news that the state d3emocratic party cancelled the debate because they were causing to much divisiveness within the party. Isn't that what a debate should do?

LOL, so there *is* something Republicans and Democrats can agree on. Maybe one of the candidates could pick up on that and use it as a unifying theme. "Who doesn't hate Couric? Vote for me in 2008!"

ABC News just revealed how spiteful and petty the mainstream news media really is towards the Democrats. It's not worth it to either Clinton or Obama (especially Obama) to debate with one another anymore. I say screw the debates -- it's all a set-up by the mainstream news to try to derail the Democrats' chances in November.
Clinton and Obama should just keep their campaigning going on, up to the convention. The next debate will be the Democratic nominee verses McCain.

The ABC debate showed that the media wants a news story, and they will go to extremes to make one up.
It's not right wing or left wing, it's just the media acting like asses. And we all should be used to that by now.
However the fact one of the "moderators" worked until Clinton 1 the whole thing should have never been agreed to.
Newsweek (It's cheaper than the newspaper) has a great comic about the assholes at ABC asking Lincoln and the other guy where their flag pins are.

I've had my disagreements with you, but this is something we can definitely agree on!
I still believe most of the media is slanted to the left, but left or right, they're more about ratings than truth.

Which Democratic Candidate has the Chief Commander’s Characters?
From the Pennsylvania Primary last week, it showed clearly which Democratic candidate has the characters of Chief Commander; obviously it is Sen. Clinton. Democratic Party needs to choose the candidate who has the Chief Commander’s characters and who can win the battleground, to be the Party Nominee to win in the general election; but not to choose someone who cannot stand up against pressure and who cannot win a battleground. The following facts show that Sen. Clinton has the Chief Commander’s characters.
• Sen. Clinton won in both the debate with Sen. Obama, and in the PA primary by 10%.
• Sen. Clinton won the PA Primary in such negative situation that someone thought she should quit or she was almost done in this campaign, but she won with 10% over Sen. Obama. It was a big and critical battleground, and she showed the Chief Commander’s characters to win the battleground again.
• Financially Sen. Clinton was in very hard situation, and Sen. Obama has the 3-1 ads in air in this primary. So Sen. Clinton won the PA Primary not by relying the financial advantages, but won with her personality and her excellent quality of Chief Commander’s characters.
• With such extremely high pressure before the PA Primary, Sen. Clinton never showed being exhausted. In contrast, Sen. Obama was reported being exhausted when he appeared in Indiana at the PA Primary night, which is not a Chief Commander’s character. This just indicates Sen. Clinton really has the Chief Commander’s characters. If she can be exhausted, she probably had appeared in that way many times. But the facts are she never been reported being exhausted. This is a very important character in the general election. The party Nominee should be full of energy and endurance to persist to the last minute to win the battleground.
• Some Sen. Obama’s supporters said the negative ads between the Democratic two Candidates will hurt each other too much. But comparing to the attacks general election between the two parties, this is just a kind of practice, to practice how to debate on the negative baggage. Just like the Olympic Athletes, it needs to practice well before the real games. No one can win a Champion without practices. If someone cannot stand up such negative ads, how can he finally win the general election? This also shows that Sen. Clinton has the Chief Commander’s characters, not afraid of the negative baggage and nothing needs to be hidden, which is also very critical character in the general election debate.
• Starting from NH to CA, from OH and TX to PA, many times when someone thought Sen. Clinton probably would loss the Primary and finish the campaign, but in facts in these critical battlegrounds each time Sen. Clinton won and changed the situation from negative to positive. Especially, the PA primary results are like an earthquake to the 2008 US election. Only the Chief Commander can do it in this way. It is actually a very important character for a Nominee to the final election, not by relying on her financial advantages, but to win by her Chief Commander’s character.
The above mentioned facts show that Sen. Clinton is really the Chief Commander and has the characters and quality to win the general election. Whereas, Sen. Obama cannot stand up the high pressure, cannot do well to the negative ads, and though with the huge financial advantages but never won a real battleground.
In June 1992 by the poll results Bill Clinton was at the third after George HW Bush, H. Ross Perot. Because Bill Clinton had the Chief Commander’s characters, he won the groundbattles one by one and be elected as the President. Similarly, though Sen. Clinton now is not the highest one in the pre-election results, as long as she has the Chief Commander’s characters she can win the battlegrounds and the win the final election. In contrast, if someone does not have the Chief Commander’s characters, so easily being exhausted and never win a battleground, how can he win in the general election?
Therefore, the facts show Sen. Clinton is the Chief Commander, and should be chosen as the nominee to win the general election.

Reading the comments about hating Katie Couric was appalling to me ! Guess what I'm a fan of Katie! She presents the news as it comes to here in great fashion!
As for the Obama he has our nation fooled as a whole. He is one smooth talker. We all know what Clinton is and what she will do. If we want our country to be in worst shape go for Obama but we are on the down hill slide with him. I am praying for our country to have the leader God wants and not the people.
