Let me start this out with a big WAHOO! Alan Tudyk, who played the endearing character of 'Wash' on Firefly, may be returning to television as early as this fall.He has been cast in a starring role for an ABC comedy that, as of yet, does not have a title. The show is being created by Max Mutchick and David Kohan, the creative team behind long-running sitcom Will & Grace. Their new show (which we've mentioned in the past) is about two writers, one gay and one straight, who are in business together. Tudyk will play the gay writer, named Charlie (according to his IMDB profile).
Firefly fans know that Tudyk was often the comic relief on the series. He has also had quite a few comedic roles in movies such as the pirate in Dodgeball and a goofy sidekick in A Knight's Tale, with the late Heath Ledger. He was also recently in a movie called Death at a Funeral, which I have not seen, but the Netflix DVD is sitting by my TV. In other words, he's going to rock this bitch.
While this all sounds promising, don't get too excited yet. ABC actually has to pick up the comedy. Tudyk was cast in a CBS legal drama during pilot season last year, but it wasn't picked up by the network.

Tudyk was definitely the best part of the sweet, mildly funny but otherwise meh! Brit-com "Death at a Funeral."

The problem with this thread is that it is not about more episodes of FireFly

So is Jesus, but like Firefly, some people still hope that he'll come back. :p

I am an atheist, but I admit I have more faith in Jesus coming back than Firefly ever returning.

In one episode Alan's character Charlie should be writing a story when all of a sudden John Casey from "Chuck" walks in and kidnaps him after learning he has been poisoned by Cameron from "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicals" for writing a story that has something to do with robots.
Dr. Jennifer Keller from "Stargate: Atlantis" should be assisted by Nurse Jessica Kivala from "Heartland" to give him an anti-toxin.
Oh and Adam Mayfair from "Desperative Housewives" should pick him up when it's all over to give him a ride home. =P

That's great and all, except for the fact that I was lucky enough to see the CBS pilot (now in NBC Universal's hands, I believe) and be a test audience. This was as recently as this spring break. And that show is awesome! I have no idea why it wasn't picked up.

Charlie isn't the name of the character, that's the character he played in the legal drama pilot 'All Rise'. His character name for this show hasn't yet been released.
