(S04E12) I had all but forgotten about Kurtwood Smith. I've been a big fan ever since Robocop and this character is really fun to watch. I only wish the writers had given his character a different name. Every time someone calls him Agent Cooper, I flashback to Twin Peaks and I feel like I'm betraying Medium by wishing that Peaks was still on the air.
One of the best things about Smith is how he can be so menacing while still keeping a smile on his face. In fact, I find him scarier when he smiles. I felt the same way when Red would actually say something nice to a member of his family on That 70's Show.
After Cooper was shot, I was only bummed for a minute before I realized that being dead doesn't keep you off a show like this. I would love it if Agent Cooper showed up once in a while to consult with Allison on her consulting. Watching Allison look at mugshots with Cooper reading over her shoulder was awesome.
It took a while but I finally found something about this show that I just can't buy. There is no way that Joe Dubois can have three daughters and still find time to work out enough to look so good shirtless. I need to know his secret and fast.
I've really had enough of D.A. Douchebag. His time is clearly up so just give him the hook already. It's very simple really. Kill off Van Dyke and have the governor or whoever appoint Manny. Then when they come back next season, they can explain that over the summer, he was re-elected, Allison is working for him again and everything is back to normal.
As much as I enjoy looking at Kelly Preston, I'm a little disappointed that she's been added to the cast. It's obvious that she's there mainly to cause some sexual tension and put Joe and Allison's marriage in jeopardy. In my opinion, the show doesn't need stuff like that. The day-to-day problems of an American family like the Dubois' have plenty of tension already.
I am, however, looking forward to watching Joe in his new career. The guy has been playing the put-upon husband for way too long. Embarking on this new adventure is exactly what the character needs to be more watchable. Who knows, maybe the girls can help Joe out around his new office.
All in all, this was a pretty good episode. I like the fact that Allison is finally seeing ghosts again and not just having bad dreams. I also like the seeing the Dubois family get their life back on track. I suppose the only thing left to fix is Det. Scanlon's horrible posture. Does that guy need a chiropractor or what?

I loved this episode. Not only did see and talk to a dead person, I didn't think the episode was going to take this turn when I started watching it, and I certainly was obtuse like Alison and did not understand why Cooper gave the bald, middle aged killer description (although I didn't buy either that my favorite agent Scanlon would abandon tracking a potential suspect when he almost caught him, going out to look for the other one, although I can't blame him since he's the only cop who believes in Alison and the psychic thing, making him the only cop who can work the case). I guess I want the Manny-Alison-Lee trio back stat too. I am also glad super-dad Joe has a job again. And not only do I want this show to get back on track with the trio, and seeing dead people, I want them to explore more of the promising stories in Joe and Alison's past, like they used to, and I want to see more of the kids - they are sweet.

I'm glad to see less of the dreams, it irritated me how Allison would jump to conclusions then constantly be suprised that things weren't 100% what her first dream suggested - moreso when what was going on was rather obvious in the firstplace.

I loved this episode for many reasons, not the least of which was the way Agent Cooper stood up for Allison and in the process thumbed his nose at Van Dyke!
Another reason to love this ep was the fact that we were spared seeing Deputy Doll display her lack of acting talents on screen! Yea! Only a one-way phone call to Lee and we didn't have to see her. Maybe GGC finally got the message that NO ONE thinks she belongs on the show because her lack of acting talent is glaringly obvious. Please oh please, knock her off or have her move to follow her ambition in another city and find someone else as a love interest for Detective Scanlon! Vanessa Marcil is available now that Las Vegas has been cancelled...
As to the posture problem of Detective Scanlon - he filmed a movie for Canadian TV in which he played a pedophile and said that role threw off the whole angle of his head, so perhaps he needs to consult with that chiropractor. He is very physicaly active and competitive in his private life. Perhaps this is a quirk he has attrributed to the character? Maybe his Mom needs to watch the show and call him and tell him to stand up straight! Ha!
