NBC's Las Vegas ended abruptly in February with two couples -- Danny and Delinda and Sam and Vic (her deceased ex-husband's brother) -- just about ready to tie the knot. But the shocking news that Cooper had died in a plane crash blanketed the ceremony in a gloomy pall -- the same pall that Vegas fans felt upon learning that the series had been canceled. Here are my top six reasons why Las Vegas needs to come back for a wrap-up movie, if not another season:1. Spin-Off Opp. A TV movie would be a great opportunity to spin Las Vegas into a new series for Josh Duhamel and James Caan. I've sorely missed watching Caan rough up the bad guys this season, and he and Duhamel would make a great P.I. duo, collaring modern-day Vegas criminals a la Crime Story's Lt. Torello. Are you listening, Michael Mann? Pretty please, with wing-tip shoes on top?
2. Baby Closure. Call me sentimental, but I need to know that Danny and Delinda's baby is OK. Creating a major cliff-hanger with Delinda clutching her belly after seeing the not-dead Cooper, and then not resolving it for viewers? That's just plain cruel. After all this couple has been through, don't Danny and Delinda deserve a little happiness? Oh sure, some say Danny's one true love was Mary, but I disagree. He and Delinda have a wacky chemistry that will see them through the tough times. Plus, Delinda's dad, Ed, is the closest thing Danny has to a father, and her mom's pretty cool, too.
3. Confirmation of Piper's Paternity. A movie would, no doubt, confirm my suspicions that Piper is Cooper's daughter -- no matter what he says. With both of them sporting those super-cute dimples? Please. They're related. Sure, Cooper's a man of honor, but something tells me his story – you know, the one about seeing his Marine buddy die in the line of duty and vowing to take care of his daughter, no matter what -- won't hold water in the big picture.
4. A Reunion for the Gang. A movie would offer a chance to get the gang back together. Just think of all the people who could show up for a wrap-up movie: James Caan as tough-guy Ed Deline; Nikki Cox as sweet Mary (let's give her a rich husband and a couple of kids, one of whom looks like Danny); Dean Cain and Lara Flynn Boyle, back from the dead (it was all a dream – hey, stranger things have happened); not to mention the parade of entertainers who've rocked the Montecito, including The Pussycat Dolls, Sugarland, Everlast, Rihanna, and a group close to Duhamel's heart, The Black-Eyed Peas.
5. Resolution for Mike and Piper. A movie would give Mike and Piper a chance to resolve their sex issues and realize they indeed belong together. These two are loveably goofy and have the chutzpah to overcome such secondary problems. What they need is to get away from it all – take a nice romantic honeymoon to the south of France, away from security cameras and concierge concerns. Trust me. That's what they need.
6. One Last Night with Sam. I can't live without at least one more night of snark from the irreverent Sam. She's my girl-crush hero. In fact, I want to be Sam when I grow up, because she forges onward, no matter what. One minute, she's the owner of the Montecito. The next, she's forced to take a hostess job at a sleazy strip club. And despite that scary plane ride where she was taken hostage and forced to endure unspeakable things, the bottom line is she'll always be Sam. Strong, self-reliant, scrappy Sam. Ah, good times.

It's very unfair fom NBCs part to deny us a proper series finale, but, also keeping things in perspective this ain't 'The Sopranos' or 'The Wire' or 'Lost'... we can probably predict the ending fairly accurately ourselves:
Delinda is OK, Baby too, blah, blah, blah, .... 3 weddings go forward. Cooper explains where he was (negotiating a secret deal to sell The Montecito to Casey's Brother) Casey's brother hooks up with Sam, rebuying The Montecito from Cooper and they are the owners. Delinda's baby is born and named after Ed Subplot to see who will run the casino. Danny stays as Prez of operations, Mitch runs security, Cut scene to show Mike is also prez.... of Montecito Macau, where both Cooper and Ed (cleared of the murder charges) are partners, with Piper as VP and preggers. Cut to musical montage -sang by special guest Will.i.am singing 'Where is the love?"- of the memories of the fallen and fired (A lot of peeps here- Mary, Detective Luis, Nessa, Sarasviti, Monica, Casey) and final shot of Vegas.
There. Cut to credits.
Really, are there any burning questions? or anyone thinks we would get something different from what I described? Maybe a couple of questions out there are left (Where's Mary at? What happened to Nessa? Where's Ed been all this time?), but they don't change the plot in any way.
However, Gary Scott Thompson has been handpicked to head the new 'Knight Rider' series. Maybe he can pull a few strings to give us a real finale? or maybe ONE episode of the new KR could be a 'crossover' and give 'Las Vegas' some closure.

This could happen...
If you had a sharp eye during the Knight Rider "movie," you would have noticed that the casino they go to is the Montecito.
Still, it doesn't really need a finale movie. It was just dumb fun, and it can go without an ending. It's not a show you could watch over and over again.
Plus, I'm afraid that a show like that will do what the UK Coupling did, and make the last bit completely different from everything else, utterly ruining the positive viewing experience of what already was there.

That didn't take a sharp eye. It was forced on us.

Las Vegas was on NBC for 5 seasons. I think NBC does owe the loyal followers of this show a proper ending. It's one thing to not have an ending to a show that has been on only one season. But I think 5 seasons deserves better than the way they ended it for this show.(it just left you hanging) Networks just don't respect their audiences one bit. It's sad.

Amen! I definitely want some closure. I love these characters. It wasn't the best show on TV but dammit it was the most fun.
I want to be Sam when I grow up too!

The networks don't respect the viewers?
How about the show-runners?
Las Vegas was on the chopping block the last 3 seasons, and the cliff-hanger finales are the lamest way for producers to drum up interest for their shows. If the producers and writers were to write a proper ending to the show, and then miraculously the show got renewed, no one would be disappointed.

After so many seasons, it' a real shame that the show didn't have a suitable wrap-up.
Thompson is obviously on speaking terms with NBC now so let's hope something like this happens. If promoted, I think it could do very well in the ratings. After all, the series had good ratings for most of its run.

Jimmy Caan left because he didn't want to do TV anymore. Why would he want to do a spin off?

SAVE LAS VEGAS!!!!!!!!
The NBC (Silverman, Garboff and Zucker) must give to we fans after 5 years a end. Those persons have reason who say that it more does not have to watch the programs of the NBC.

The NBC as it can cancel a show like Las Vegas with a large cliffhangers! It is not right towards the actors and all the persons who have worked and are not right towards the fans that they have followed the series for 5 years. The fans they deserve at least a end.

I can't believe Vegas is gone. The show was left us with so many unanswered questions. We need a two hour movie and a spin off would be great.

I really love this fun, funny show. I looked forward to relaxing at the end of the week on a Friday night watching this show to kick off a weekend right. It has just the right amount of fun, love story and crime solving to make it entertaining but light and enjoyable. The characters are the best looking, best loving and great together that TV has. This is not Law and Order or something with blood and guts, it's more entertaining than that and I can't believe they cancelled it to begin with but goodness sakes, let the show end as it was intended!! The fans and actors deserve some closure!!
