It looks like the American version of Eleventh Hour is already heading to series. The Bruckheimer-produced series is based on the short-lived ITV series of the same name which starred Patrick Stewart and Ashley Jensen. It will be shown on CBS and the selected showrunners will be Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff, formerly of Sleeper Cell. The British version of the show has developed something of a cult following, despite the fact that only four two-part episodes were aired. It is science fiction, but it tries to be very realistic science fiction. It's mood is closer to CSI than to most of the more fantastic sci-fi shows out there.
I saw the first episode of the British version and while I enjoyed the performances of the leads I found the pace to be somewhat slow. I suspect any variety that Jerry Bruckheimer produces of this program will not suffer from that shortcoming. It will probably also have more explosions.

I don't know if you realize it or not, but your article doesn't tell us what the show is about. For others that are curious:
"The British limited sci-fi series stars Rufus Sewell as a special science adviser to the government who, with his feisty female bodyguard Rachel (Marley Shelton) in tow, saves people from the worst abuses of science."

Your quote seems to have been edited, and ended up being incorrect. (Pesky little "and" that got removed was actually important.) The British version starred Patrick Stewart and Ashley Jensen. The NEW one will star Rufus Sewell and Marley Shelton.
Actual Quote:
"Hour," from Bruckheimer TV, Warner Bros. TV and Granada TV, is based on the British limited sci-fi series and stars Rufus Sewell as a special science adviser to the government who, with his feisty female bodyguard Rachel (Marley Shelton) in tow, saves people from the worst abuses of science.

I LOVE the Brit version. Patrick Stewart is great. The relationship between Patrick and his (Keeper, protector, something,) Gal Friday, is awesome. I just know the American version will, well, suck. The Office is one of the few Brit shows that made it here. And I prefer the Brit version. I'm sorry, their shows are better.

there's a pretty lively blog on CBS.com. I liked the premier, but the second faltered a bit. I suspect this one will take a little while to hit its stride. It has been prematurely compared to the Xfiles, but I think it will develop a strong following.
