Prison Break fans, you better sit down for this, especially if you were a Sara/Michael 'shipper. According to E!'s gossip columnist Kristin Dos Santos and TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, actress Sarah Wayne Callies will be back as a series regular for season 4 of FOX's Prison Break! No need to check your computer monitor, you read right: Dr. Sara Tancredi could very well be alive! The actress left the show at the end of the second season. She officially appeared in one episode last season (a body double was used in the first episodes of the season) during a scene set in the past, since her character was beheaded in episode 3.03.
How the writers will write the character back in is unknown, especially since it was made rather clear that it was Sara's head in the box Lincoln received. Then again, if Charles Widmore was able to fake Flight 815 and its passengers on Lost, it must have been rather easy for Susan to get a believable fake head made. Plus, it's not like Lincoln had a DNA test performed on the head. He saw something that looked 100% like the real thing, so he closed the box and accepted the death as fact.
If Tancredi does come back, it's clear that they'll say Susan faked Sara's death so that Michael would do what he needed to do, to give him the ultimate reason to break out of Sona. The new question now is where is Sara? A question that won't be answered for a few weeks. I say weeks because, let's face it, spoilers will soon surface and provide the answer!
Kristin was able to get in contact with producer Matt Olmstead. The letter said that if Sara does return this means that Michael and she will finally be together.
Personally, I didn't miss Sara that much last season so this news is not rocking my TV world. Actually, I'm not sure this is a good decision. Then again, Sara had a good fan following so her return may help the show ratings-wise.

I may be remembering wrong, but I thought LJ was in the room when Sara was beheaded. Didn't he tell his dad he saw it happen?

My brain doesn't recall what LJ said or not. If indeed he said he saw everything happen, then it'll be more difficult to make Sara's return believable. Maybe Susan blackmailed LJ in saying he saw it? OR She not only found a fake head but a fake body to stage the beheading so LJ would claim he saw everything?

LJ said he heard it, but closed his eyes so he didn't see it. It strains credulity, but it does give them a window.
I loved the character, so if they come up with a believable reason the company would have faked her death instead of actually killing her I'll be happy.

Can't say I'm surprised since L.J. never saw her being beheaded. He wasn't looking, only heard the sound and, to tell you the truth I don't remember him being in the same room... I always thought he death was too dodgy and that she would return either during the season or in the future (her death was necessary because she was pregnant and that was hard to justify/conceal in the series).
For some people that will be an extra reason to continue to watch the series cause I'm sure she will be used as a shield now that Michael will hunt them and that when he founds out that she's alive we will have an anti-prison break, where he will plot a way to enter some compound to free her. We still have Sucre in prison and the Burrows brothers don't know about it so I wouldn't be surprised if they exploit this and free Sucre, IMO.

This show and CSI Miami are some of the best 'comedic dramas' on television! I am sure that whatever occurs with Sara's return, it will involve convoluted overacting.

Why didn't Susan kill Sara but staged it? Did she need Sara later on?

so should i watch the show next season? the last time i saw the show, Sara disappeared in a crowd of people in season 2 finale, so it doesn't matter if i didn't watch season 3 then. on second thought, i won't torture myself watching the once engaging Prison Break again, season 2 was painfully boring already.

This is the stupidest thing ever!
Clearly they have no idea what to do next season, and they are willing to do anything, like trying to please the fans who were pissed at Sara's death this season.
I was, but this only makes me NOT want to watch next season. I mean, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, and Lincoln did stare at the opened box for a few seconds, he has to be the stupidest character ever not to recognize her (or even make sure it's her)
And yes, LJ said (S03E09) that he was in the room when the "crazy bitch" cut Sara's head off. If he was forced to lie, why not tell the truth when they were all free in the finale ?
And why would they do that, and how, and where would be Sara now... ???
Nope, clearly this upcoming season will be even worse than this one was, and it realy sucked already!

Yeah...and (as mentioned above) LJ said his eyes were closed and he only heard it. Didn't see it.
Try cutting your indignation with some actual truth.

yes, I cannot agree more, this is pure stupidity.
So, we should now believe that although Susan was not able to produce a fake photograph of dead Sarah (when Michael requested it), she is capable of producing a fake Sarah's head.
Not to mention the fact that if Sarah was in fact alive when Michael requested a new photo, Susan would not have to produce a fake photograph at all...

Ha! I am the exact same way. When I heard the killed her off so quickly, I thought, why then was I watching the first two years worried she'd get axed just to see her killed like she was a minor character? I don't know if I'll start watching but I am happy she'll coming back. I'll probably wait till the whole show is over and on DVD to catch up.

Yes, meaning he probably closed his eyes not to see the actual beheading, but he saw Sara in the room with him, and getting "prepared" to be killed.
They were in the same room. That he didn't actually looked at the actual beheading doesn't mean he closed his eyes the day before to be sure not to know what was happening.
Not to mention he chosed to close his eyes, but could have not done so, or have opened them at any moment : where they really trying to pretend to kill Sara, yet not actually killing her but someone else, all that in front of LJ ?? Really!?? Come on!

Keep in mind, they could always pull an MI:III...the person that died could have been wearing a mask........which also strains the whole thing a bit...

I quit watching Prison Break after hearing that Sara's head was going to show up in a box. This news would have been welcome last season. But it's too late now. I'm done with the show.

Great news! I never felt right about them killing Sara. I mean, come on, contract dispute or not, couldn't they find some less shoot-myself-in-the-foot way of handling her absence? One of the biggest driving forces of the show was the love affair between Michael and Sara. And I'm not usually one to go with the shippering on tv shows but on this show ... it just felt wrong to kill her off. I'm glad they're bringing her back.

This would be great if this is true because it would be a big plot twist. Plus who is to say if she really is alive she will want to be with Michael. For all we know she could have worked out a deal with the company to stage her death and in doing so keeps her self alive but will have to do things for the compay in return.
Another thing is Michael starts going insane and sees Sara all over the place and makes chit chat with her and people could see a wacko on the streets and so He get back in jail but more of a insane Asylum and has to find a way out of there.
But if Sara really is coming back this will be a shock for every one and so there will be lots of ways to bring her back in which will be fun to see how the people working on Prison Break can bring her back in without making this move a bad one.
So I for one hope this news is true. Because I like to see a curve ball every so often.
