Hear that sound -- a nearly inaudible rumbling coming over the horizon? Everyday it is getting louder and louder. Soon, the stampede that is the return of scripted series back from the depths of the WGA strike will overrun our televisions and computer screens, bringing overwhelming joy to our lives.
Okay, that statement may be a little flowery, but the sentiment is still there. After a very long dry period a good many of our favorite comedies and dramas are returning to the television landscape. We've had a taste of it these last few weeks with the return of shows like The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Dirt, The Riches and Smallville. That was just a preview of what is to come. Over the next few weeks we will see the return of The Office, Scrubs, Ugly Betty, all of the CSIs, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost, among others.
Being the conscientious TV-related web site that we are, we have provided you with a listing of those returning shows, complete with the number of first-run episodes they have left to burn off before the season ends. Also listed are season and series premieres for a number of shows, programs that will be returning next season, and those shows that, due to the strike or the fact that they stunk, will not be returning at all. As usual, this list can change at a moment's notice. In other words, don't blame me if the networks change their minds.

I don't watch Lost but I thought that returned already? A few people in my class have been coming to school Thurs morning (or is it Fri morning?) ecstatically talking about what happened on the latest episode.

Last week was the last pre-strike episode of Lost, now it will be off the air for a few weeks while they film the rest of the season.

Entourage is coming back later in the summer or next season.
Lost was on already, but is taking a few weeks break.
I don't know if we can save Las Vegas or not.

I'm pretty sure The Office returns on April 3. And both CSI Miami and Greek started back two days ago (March 24).

Too bad about Journeyman. That show got better with each new episode.
Great to see that Life will be returning in the fall though!
Anyone know the official word on the final season of BSG? Are all episodes airing this year? Seem to recall hearing that the last episode would not air till 2009.

There hasn't been an official word on Journeyman yet but I think its pretty clear it is not coming back. There is nothing on NBC for me anymore.
Nothing official has been announced yet for BSG's back end. Production is currently underway on the last 10 episodes. Theoretically it could be ready for a late fall premiere but I doubt SciFi will do that.

I just checked the NBC media website, and 'The Office' is starting on April 10th along with 'Scrubs' and '30 Rock'. 'Earl' is the only one starting April 3rd.

I have looked through the list, and I don't find "The Unit".
It used to follow NCIS (which was in the list). What's up with that???

There is no date as to when 'The Unit' will return. It's on the fence along with 'Cane'.
As to 'Battlestar Galactica'...only about half of the episodes will be airing now. The rest are scheduled to be aired in 2009.

Nothing official has been stated as to the airing schedule for the last 10 of BSG. Until SciFi gives an official word on the rest of their schedule this year or that BSG will finish in 2009 can we know that.

How about Big Love? Anybody heard anything? Also, listening to KNX news LA whilst driving home yesterday, they expressed concern over not only how much the WGA strike affected all things LA, but that there are apparently rumblings that the Screen Actors Guild is talking possible strike this fall. Just what we all need...more reality shows!

You forgot about Smallville. In the article you said it's already returned...but it's still on pre-strike episodes, the last of which airs tomorrow. After that, it's repeats for a few weeks until April 17th, when it returns with 5 post-strike episodes.
