Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Bible Fruit (season finale?)

Frylock's MySpace page on ATHF.
(S05E09) "Well... I'm about to update your "MyFace" page with my ass unless you get in there and read us a story!" - Shake

Well, not the best episode of ATHF, but I liked certain parts of it. The addition of new or temporary characters is always so touch and go on this show. Sometimes it's huge and repeat appearances are warranted. Think Mooninites, Plutonians, and MC Pee Pants. The Bible Fruit? Despite the extra points for being a well-done knock off of the openly Christian themed VeggieTales, I'll be glad if I never see them again.

Frylock went ahead and made a MySpace page and quickly made three new friends who he invited over for a party: Burt Banana, Tammy Tangerine, and Mortimer Mango. Carl showed up briefly, but quickly left after remarking "see you fruits later." Hilarious. Despite the fact that everyone dressed up (Frylock had a cardigan, Shake had a Hawaiian shirt, Meatwad... a belt), the party went south fast when the Fruits outed themselves as drug addicts turned hardcore Jesus freaks. Think of all the religious fanatic stereotypes you've ever encountered and that pretty much sums them up.

Over the course of the evening, Burt lost control and began to crave alcohol, drugs, sex, and beating his fiancé Tammy. Blame Shake's mojitos I guess. They trashed the house as most guests of the Aqua Teen's tend to do and eventually, Frylock and Meatwad blew the place up with Shake and the Fruits inside.

Nothing all that special, but there are a few things worth talking about...

  • Anyone notice the jab at Adult Swim for pulling Futurama? Meatwad wanted to watch it but Shake said they didn't have it anymore and he'd have to go next door to "Carl Central" (get it?) to watch it. Then he made some crack about how Carl didn't even want it until they [the Aqua Teen's] liked it. Funny stuff and well played. Futurama is now exclusively on Comedy Central.
  • Has Shake ever "whipped it out?" Does "it" even exist? He always threatens, but never acts. I'd like to see that played out some time... I think.
  • I know that Burt was voiced by David Cross, even though he was credited as Sir Willups Brightlysmoore. But who voiced Tammy? I know I recognized the voice but didn't see a familiar name in the credits.
  • I thought Shake was supposed to be filled with what was presumably pistachio flavored milk shake? Was Frylock being serious when he said that Shake was actually filled with liquid crystal meth?
  • Carl with a comb-over is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on this show.
  • Why had Meatwad vomited so much? Was Shake testing out his mojito recipe on the little guy before the party?
  • I loved listening to some of Burt's lines as he slowly gave in to his desires. He went from "high five Jesus" to "pour me a little bit of a full glass of that rum" in about thirty seconds.

This may be the season finale but I'm not sure. I've found a few places that list a tenth episode with title and airdate TBA, so who knows -- Adult Swim is like that, though. If there is one more ep, it's not next week. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters is premiering on Adult Swim. If this is it, it's been a good season. If not... I'm looking forward to see how they end it. Unless this is the end. Right? Yes. Maybe.

Will you watch the Aqua Teen movie on Adult Swim?
