America's Next Top Model: Top Model Takes It to the Streets

Fatima is going to win!

(S10E05)
We're down to 10 girls on this cycle of America's Next Top Model, and my strategy to root for the models I least want to win is in full effect.

I'm currently supporting Dominique and Fatima with the hopes that they make it to the final two and I have to admit it's really painful having to do this.

I cringe every time I hear Dominique refer to herself in the third person. I gag every time Fatima talks about how ghetto or stupid another girl is. I cringe and gag having any positive thoughts about them, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the models I really want to win.

Like I said last week, I'm done jinxing the girl I want to win by openly cheering for her during these write-ups. Dominique and Fatima for the win!

Aww, crap. Tonight's episode combined two of my least favorite things about any Top Model cycle. That's right, we had to suffer through a Benny Ninja appearance and the dreaded couture shoot.

Benny Ninja pretends to teach the girls something.

Tyra Banks may as well have come directly to my house and punched me square in the nuts. She basically did the same thing when she put this episode together knowing I was going to have to write it up.

Benny Ninja irritates me to no end. He's just a little too over the top for me, and I don't know that any of the advice he gives to the girls ends up helping them at all. As for couture. I always end up hating every single outfit the girls get stuffed into because they just end up looking like some character out of a friggin' videogame.

I never understand who would possibly wear one of these outfits. If I was walking down the street and somebody popped out from behind a bush wearing a couture "costume", I'd probably poop my pants and then go running down the block telling everyone the country was being invaded by poorly dressed aliens.

Whitney and Dominique had a bit of a blow-up that started with a missed telephone call and ended with Dominique calling Whitney a racist. Fun!

Vendela brought the girls to 5 Pointz so the girls could participate in a "pose off". It's moments like these that I'm truly embarrassed that I watch this show religiously, but at the same time, it's moments like these that make me watch this show. Conundrum? I think so.

Team A: Lauren, Dominique, Anya, Aimee, and Fatima
Team B: Whitney, Stacy-Ann, Katarzyna, Marvita, and Claire

Benny was going to call out catalog, commercial, or couture and the girls basically posed against one another. I don't know how they could go through this entire event with a straight face, but I guess even I'd do anything in pursuance of a dream. I also think catalog and commercial sound like the same pose, but what do I know?

Claire versus Dominique

Dominique vs. Claire - Tie
Lauren vs. Marvita - Lauren
Anya vs. Stacy-Ann - Stacy-Ann
Fatima vs. Whitney - Whitney - her splits were hot (and I don't think she looks a thing like Anna Nicole by the way)
Aimee vs. Karazyna - Katarzyna

Team B ended up winning so they got to go to a swag tent and take some free stuff home. The judges thought Claire was the best on an individual level and she also received a trip to Bora Bora.

The photo shoot was a little different than I was expecting. Instead of a getting all coutured up for a shoot that emphasized the clothing the girls had their hair twisted and contorted in strange styles for a shoot that would involve various shades of paint being drizzled on their faces.

It was rather interesting to say the least, and a nice change of pace to have the photos be closeups of the girls faces instead of the typical full body shots we're accustomed to seeing. Of course the exception to that is Dominique who I prefer be as far away from the camera as possible. Whoops! Did that slip out? I'm supposed to be rooting for her. I take that back.

Aimee at the paint shoot.

Personally, I think Aimee did the best during tonight's shoot. She's really starting to grow on me each and every episode which probably means that she's going to be heading home here shortly.

The order of the photos:

Before we get to the order I think it's critical that we discuss this:

Fatima's hairy pits.

What the hairy hell? I can't grow that much hair on my face in a month and I want to! I'm one part disgusted and two parts jealous.

I also liked how Tyra and Nigel said, "A touch-up costs a thousand dollars. A razor costs a dollar." Priceless.

Stacy-Ann
Dominique
Claire
Anya
Lauren
Aimee
Katarzyna
Fatima

That left Marvita and Whitney as the final two and Marvita was ultimately sent home.

My strategy is off to a brilliant start. I'm not giving up hope yet. I encourage all of you to assist me in sending out karamaic goodness to Dominique and Fatima. Collectively, we can will the two of them to victory (wink, wink).
