Vote for your favorite Lost character

Michael EmersonMost Lost fans have a favorite character, or even a few favorites. Now all of the Locke fans, Kate admirers, and Ben disciples can settle their differences--March Madness-style. Since March 7th, the Washington Post has been hosting Lost Madness, a bracket-like poll to determine the best all-time Lost character.

Instead of regions, the tournament sorts everyone by character type: 815ers, Others/DHARMA, rescuers and dead survivors, and other crucial players (the Smoke Monster, Danielle, etc.). The first two rounds are already finished, but you still have time to vote in the Sweet Sixteen round. New winners are revealed every couple of days and the winner will be announced on March 25th.

Among the most noteworthy results--Sun beat Jin in a close vote, Rose beat Bernard, and Vincent the dog beat baby Aaron by a landslide. I'm more surprised by who is missing from the Sweet Sixteen. Sayid beat Locke in the second round, and Sawyer beat Hurley in Round One. I can't believe that Hurley didn't at least make it to Round Two.

At the moment, there are some interesting matchups: Jack vs. Sayid, Kate vs. Sawyer, and the Smoke Monster vs. Desmond. This bracket should result in some even tougher matchups in a few days. For my money, the front runners are Ben, Sayid, and Desmond, with Ben Linus winning it all. How can anyone else win? Ben probably has an inside man at the Washington Post right now.

The current round of voting continues until March 17th, with subsequent rounds beginning on the 19th and the 21st.
