Earlier this week, ABC posted a surprise Lost audio podcast. There wasn't another podcast scheduled until after the airing of "Ji Yeon," but Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse decided to do one anyway. As usual, Lost's executive producers rehashed "The Other Woman," responded to fans' questions, and previewed "Ji Yeon." Spoiler Warning: The ending of the Lost: Via Domus video game is discussed, so stop reading if you want to be surprised. Here's a brief recap of the podcast:
-
Two of the final five episodes' scripts are finished, and the writers are currently working on the third.
-
The season finale will be two hours long, and the episode will be split up over two weeks.
-
There are two reasons why the supposedly peace-loving "hippies" from DHARMA had a chemical weapons station (The Tempest). Either they were not as peaceful as they seemed, or they used the station as protection against the island Hostiles.
-
By the season's end, we'll find out if Ben was telling the complete truth about Widmore's intentions for the island.
-
We will see more of Harper Stanhope at some point.
-
One of the Missing Pieces mobisodes showed Christian Shephard alive on the island and talking to Vincent the dog. We will definitely see Christian Shephard again. According to Lindelof and Cuse, it is good for fans to consider Christian's role in Jack's life and the lives of the other survivors.
-
The black smoke monster will make an appearance this season.
-
Terry O'Quinn had some doubts about Locke's questionable actions in this season and the last (killing Naomi, for example). Locke's motives and his journey to make sense of his connection to the island will be explored further. We will see a more "energized and activated" Locke by the end of Season Four.
-
Lindelof and Cuse said the following about the end of the Lost: Via Domus game--it was not all a dream.
Lindelof and Cuse will do another podcast after the eighth episode, "Meet Kevin Johnson." Be sure to check back here for another recap. "Ji Yeon" airs tonight at 9pm ET.

SPOILER WARNING:
At the end, the game basically shifts back through time to the beginning. The main character (one that was made for the video game) is just about to get off the island when he looks up and sees the plane crashing again. He then blacks out and when he wakes up he's back on the beach again.

Do NOT buy the game if you like Lost. I made that mistake, and it has already been traded in for something else (I finished it... very short, very frustrating and a terrible use of a license). It should have been an open-world (Well, open-island) game. However, you have to go down a set path to beat the game, you cannot do anything out of the ordinary, and you have to hear horrible imitations of Josh Holloway and Terry O'Quinn. I am scarred mentally by playing this :( :(

A season finale that is 2 hours long and split up over 2 weeks is actually just a regular episode and then a single 1 hour finale.

No metz, it's not a 1 hour episode and a one hour finale. If it were two different 1 hour episodes, like you suggest, the producers would have said that. They want viewers to know that it is being written as the same episode, split over two weeks, because that effects the actual number of episodes left in the series, which is 48 split over 3 seasons. So these 2 parts are considered one of those 48 episodes, not two. They simply want fans to know they aren't being cheated.
