As reported on last night's Top 12 performance show, this year's American Idol finale has found a new home, leaving the Kodak Theatre for the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. The 7000 seat venue opened in November 2007, and stands adjacent to the Staples Center. Both the performance show on Tuesday, May 20th and the two hour grand finale on Wednesday, May 21st will broadcast live from this state of the art facility. While there's no mention of tickets being for sale for the event, I'm sure mine are in the mail. The rest of you guys will just have to watch at home. For more pics, check out the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live official site.
It looks like an absolutely beautiful place, and despite its relative youth in the world of venues, it's already booked some pretty major gigs. On top of the tour de force that is the American Idol finale, the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live will also play host to The American Music Awards, The ESPY Awards and the Latin Grammy Awards. But probably the biggest coup to date is the ten year deal signed to be the official home of The Emmy Awards through 2018. With The Grammy Awards being held next door at the Staples Center, it looks like this will be the hub for entertainment award shows. Now somebody just needs to woo The Oscars.

I believe a new HOST would greatly improve the show. Someone who can show the contestants how to act with dignity and respect and be professional. He is really very annoying and overboard with his bad taste regardless of how cute and funny he thinks he is. His arrogance does not give a good example for the young people who have begun to copy his behavior. Sarcasm toward Simon seems to be his only idea of being funny and it has become very irritating to watch. Get someone who knows how to be amusing without another's expense and is more professional and a good example.
