(S02E04) Well now things are just getting ridiculous. There must be a way that the residents of Jericho can take a stand against the occupation in their town. Are we to believe that Jake, Eric, Dale and a few others are the only people who have a problem with the new government? Considering how well they were doing on their own, I find it hard to believe they would stand around and be bullied by Ravenwood.
As for Stanley, he talks like he won't come around until the government literally comes and takes everything he holds dear, including Mimi. With that in mind, I have to say that this review was difficult for me to write considering the way it ended.
I think it's hilarious how Mimi and her freakish accounting abilities are the only thing that poses a threat to Goetz. I suppose the only person qualified to take down an oppressive government agent acting outside the law is someone who has experience doing the same exact thing, i.e. an IRS agent.
Did I miss the scene where the Hawkins kids went to live somewhere else. I understand that they aren't very convenient to the story right now, but that's no reason to give them the Chuck Cunningham.
I'm very curious to find out whether or not John Smith is someone we've already met. Could it actually be Mayor Douchebag working from the inside or is it one of Jonah's men? Either way, I kind of need some closure on this bomb thing. I mean, someone's got to find it eventually, right?
The only thing better than Hawkins' plan to make Beck see what he wanted him to see was the reassurance that Beck is smarter than anyone gives him credit for. Now if only he would come around and help expose Valente and the rest of the conspirators.
My favorite scene in the show had to be Heather's search and destroy mission in Beck's office. Sprague Grayden's acting along with the dramatic camera angles made for a very tense part of the show. It makes me wonder why Grayden has been so underused this season.
At the risk of sounding naive, wouldn't it be easier to expose the conspiracy if Ravenwood and the military were gone? It's really frustrating watching the entire population of the town turn into mindless sheep when only a few weeks ago they were all banding together to defend themselves from an attack. Jake and the rest need to say "Nuts" to the Cheyenne government, make their own flag and declare themselves a sovereign government.
At the end of the day, it appears the only one with balls enough to do what needed to be done was the helpless little deaf girl. As sad as I am to see Bonnie go, I can't imagine any character who would make a better martyr.

In the first episode of this season, the Hawkins kids were mentioned as staying with Jimmy's family, so I have to assume they're still there.
I agree that they should at least be making an appearance...unless their contracts couldn't be renewed when the show returned.

Yea... Bonnie will make the perfect martyr.
Last night when they were showing the previews for next week, they said the last 3 episodes until the season finale. Is it coming back? If not I thought they said that we would have an ending.... Um... new storylines do not bring an ending.

"Sarcasm on!"
First, I would like to thank the local CBS affiliate for not broadcasting in HD. Second I would also like to thank their interruption of this episode for the fact that Hilary won Ohio. Thanks, not only did I not get to watch in HD, I also did not get to see the ending.
"Sarcasm off!"
Off to CBS's site to watch the rest of the episode.

You only had to contend with Hil and Barak interruptions, we had incessant weather 'warnings' because "when it's dark tornados are more dnagerous because you can't see them." Duh, thanks weather-weenie!
Like you, off to CBS website to re-watch, missed FAR too much!

We got interruptions on CBS and I'm in Illinois.
But they were smart about it and didn't do a break in and delay the show they used a commercial break or 3/4 screen

Loved this episode - and don't care what happened to Hawkins kids. Kudos to Mimi, it gives us a reason to like her. The town is in fear. . . before they were just fighting another town like themselves, now well armed mercenaries. . . big difference!

"Are we to believe that Jake, Eric, Dale and a few others are the only people who have a problem with the new government?"
I think the core problem is the town went from sleepy back water in Kansas, to no lights or gas, near starvation, fending off Ravenwood, and a shooting war with their neighbors. For the average resident electricity and police mean a lot more than whether Dale can stock Wheat Thins. Now though, Ravenwood shooting up a home, one would imagine this is their Lexington and Concord moment.
"I think it's hilarious how Mimi and her freakish accounting abilities are the only thing that poses a threat to Goetz." That's because Mimi posed a direct threat to Goetz. If J&R have no problem with an occasional murder, what do you think they do to administrators that they catch skimming off the top?
Poor Bonnie. But, as a lesson, never stand still during a gun fight. If you're not shooting you should be reloading, and if you're not behind cover you should be moving towards it. And concealment isn't cover, as Mimi found out.

I think CBS is calling it a "season finale" to avoid another nuts incident. If they are planning to bury the show this time there is going to be no warning and no turning back once the decession is made and that will be made clear at the very last moment possible. Just look at how Veronica Mars was abushed last year for the template on how to string fans along just enough to not be bombarded with "save my show" activities.

So pre-empt them, beat them to it. show them Jericho still has loyal fans. Make them think long and hard about pulling it.

I don't see why everyone thinks that Jericho citizens would be in such a hurry to fight off an enormous, very organized, healthy military that are affiliated with the "government", no matter how much they thought it was bogus. They were hopelessly outgunned with the fight with the neighboring town! Never mind a huge army with helicopters, etc. During the president's speech, it seemed pretty obvious that people were beginning to realize they were on the wrong side of the Mississippi, and there was something very wrong with their government, but how easy do you think it is to fight something like that!? There is a fight coming, but they need the army/Beck to back them, or it will be a guerilla war, which I can't imagine is so easy in flat Kansas! I'm hoping it has another season, because I can't imagine them resolving the situations to our satisfaction in three episodes!

How was Bonnie able to take out so many military contractors with a shotgun? Guess Ravenwood's guys got lax in their training.
Goetz only stole $10k, should have gone for more.

He only got caught stealing $10 from Jericho. Who's to say he hasn't done this many more times in other towns with less than accurate accountants.

Bonnie was a tough farm girl defending her home. It was GREAT!! Wow, I didn't expect that. Last week when I voted that she would be the next to die, I pictured her dying as a victim somewhere along the road to Cheyenne. Instead, she died bravely defending hearth and home, and Mimi, who her brother loves so much. It took her no time to just get the gun and start shooting!!! Very touching and very sad.

Pretty sure the reason you aren't seeing Hawkins' kids is because we aren't seeing Hawkins' house. He is staying at a place Jake gave him the keys to (can't remember whose place it is exactly, I think Jake's grandfather's cabin). So when we keep seeing Jake and Hawkins meeting up, it is at the cabin, not where the wife and kids are staying.
