Although this season of Big Brother 9 isn't quite the norm (as much as a norm this show can have), there are some constants when compared to past seasons. The editing, what production wants the viewers to perceive, is more obviously distorted when the viewer can watch live feeds. This sort of editing happens for every reality show out there, but it's only Big Brother where we can see what's really happening. The promos for tonight's show were first a love affair betwixt Ryan and Allison, then some sort of showdown with Joshuah and Allison. What's really going on? For show Sunday and Tuesday show spoilers, read on past the jump.
Okay, the real deal between Ryan and Allison is far from any sort of love affair despite the show's attempts to suggest one exists. Although Allison sort of liked Ryan at the start, the more she implodes, the less he wants to do with her. They're both on the block and, similar to the Amanda/Alex situation, he thinks it's all Allison's fault for alienating everyone else in the house.
He's right. Operation Gardener (remove Allison because she plants evil seeds) is in full effect. Ryan can really do nothing except stand back and watch his own train wreck conducted by Allison.
The storyline about Joshuah and Allison in the most recent promos is probably only because the internet audience saw it. Thus, the show must show it. Whether we'll see if Joshuah actually said the words "slit your throat" to her or not remains to be seen. It's something which was blocked to the feeds prior to Wednesday's show. When the feeds are blocked, the cameras remain filming -- we just can't see what's happening.
Another editing and show production issue this season is the sex and the Big Brother After Dark show on ShoToo from midnight to 3 AM ET every night. The show technically isn't anything more than the live feeds, but for only three hours a night instead of the 24/7. Oh, they sometimes have a ticker along the bottom announcing some important event which might have happened before the show started or promos with Julie Chen. But all it is is the feeds.
Oh, but it's television! And, of course, these silly hamsters were equipped with a bowl of condoms and probably encouraged by the producers that sex is good television. So, each night at midnight, what do we get? Odd sexually-related acts. All because they feel they need to put a show on for the BBAD viewers. Sigh.
In the latest house news:
- Nominations were Matt/Natalie and Ryan/Allison with the target being Allison (and Ryan by circumstance).
- Matt and Natalie won the power of veto.
- They saved themselves in today's POV meeting and Adam/Sheila went on the block. That was no surprise to anyone other than Allison as it had been discussed with all involved.
- The target is still Allison.
- Matt is stringing along Ryan to make him think he's on his side.
- Everyone is stringing along Allison who's becoming increasingly annoying as she grills each person incessantly.
- They're bored as I write this up, but they'll surely have some raunchy sex stuff going on come midnight.
- In the sex hours, Allison and Chelsia made out with James joining in. Matt and James pleasured themselves while the girls talked. Oh, to just go back to the days of Howie's Jack Shack. That was bad enough, but at least it was kind of funny and not like watching porn.
- Allison is going around campaigning to stay...Ryan really isn't campaigning. Sheila is a bit worried, but it seems like all will go for the Allison removal at this time.
The houseguests are assuming someone will be returning to the house and that the couples bit really can't last much longer unless it's a short season. Allison Grodner, the executive producer, has already hinted long ago that the couples would eventually be broken up. She said nothing about anyone returning, but it seems every person evicted this season went directly into sequester with the exception of Neil leaving. While he left a brief blurb on his MySpace page about a family emergency, there have been no interviews or activity from any of the others at all.
Any one of them could return to the game.

OK excuse me...however is this the sorriest bunch of losers on BigBrother...ever...
What did they expect getting into reality TV...oh yeah that is right...they want to become Stars...
There is no planning on any ones part...this is a one man/woman show and only one can win so why all the crap about partners...Unless of course both are splitting the winnings and the last time I checked it was only one.
They all make accusations about the other so guess what...its called manipulation and lying and who said Big Brother wasnt about that...
Bring on the summer version with I hope every man/woman for themselves...

i think this season is worst of all, this hugging and kissing is taken away, from the games. i'm sick of seeing everybody crying after they vote them out, and this whispering about each other, that's why you need more people like Dick from last season you have to respect him he was just straight out. and that made it exciting. and you need more people of color also, and i hope Parker return he was done wrong.

`i'm really disappointed in that show 3-12-08 why did the fans vote just for you to put the same old person back in, like why ask us to cast or vote, you should of least let them no who they were voting for cause james would of never got back in that wasn't cool at all. the producer need a differ twist cause thats not it. every year it's getting boring.
