Cool news for fans of NBC's Heroes: it looks like the show is going to start filming a lot earlier than it usually does.
Shows usually start filming in July/August for the fall season, but according to Heroes star James Kyson Lee (Ando), the writers strike means that the show will start filming in June, and maybe as early as May. He says that NBC plans to really push the show this year, using the Olympics to hype the show.
That's the good news. The (possible) bad news is that TV Guide's Michael Ausiello is reporting that Kristen Bell isn't signed for the new season yet.
He does believe that she will eventually be signed though, because fans like her so much.
I'm curious though: Veronica Mars memories aside, do you Heroes fans like her character on the show? Is she necessary to the plot? I like her story arc. I see her either coming over to the side of the good guys (if she signs a long-term contract) or completely going crazy because of the way her father has been treating her and trying to destroy everyone and eventually dying in a really dramatic way.
Bell turned down the role of Charlotte on Lost to take the Heroes gig.

Well, though Maya's story was crammed in there, I like her on the show... I just think she needs to stop crying oil all the time.

Absolutely. More Bell, more gooder. Support the Bell Curve.

Good, she is wasting her acting on the mess that Heroes has become.

And Heroes was absolutely so much better before. Not! I like Heroes, but I think it has always been overrated, and it really is only a little worse now than it was at its best.

I do agree it was always hugely overrated, but after the season finale in season 1 it left a bad taste in my mouth and season 2 just made that taste grow.
Plus the show has way too many characters on it and need a lot of them to die, and stay dead.

I personally didn't really like her being in the show too much. Not the actress' fault... I just thought the character was stupid. The show made her seem like such a powerful character when she was hunting down Peter... despite the fact that Peter has her power plus many others. She acted like such a bad ass towards him, as if she could really do him any harm. IMO the show tried to make her scarier and more powerful than she really was.
When I think about it more, I guess this was probably more of an issue I had with the overall writing and feel of season 2.. more so than an issue I had with her character specifically. However, I did feel this way about her character more than most others. She was just annoying and didn't really do much for me and did not contribute much to the show.

Fine by me... I hated--HATED--her character, and not in a good way. I'll be very surprised if Heroes can recapture its former glory with or without Bell...

She deserves better than Heroes. The writing on that show is so lazy.

I hope they bring her back, becaus i liked her story-arc and would like to see it grow.. But i really hope they kill off the Maya story-line.. Or at least shake it up a bit.. Those moments with her and her brother where brutaly boring!

I don't know how NECESSARY to the plot Kristen Bell's character currently is, but she certainly COULD be very useful in the show with her history and ties to the Big Bad Group.
I like what she's done on the show and hope they keep usng her.
Zan and Jayna, er Maya and her brother quickly had me going from a little intrigued to feeling that those two characters and their storyline (except for giving a certain bad guy a ride) were a complete waste of time.

She was the only good new hero on the show. The twins (well the one still alive), Peter Pan, and Molly (is that her name? Its been so long I've forgotton) dont need to come back. Also Nikki can stay dead as well.

She is the only good new character, even better than half the original characters. But even still they never should have canceled Veronica Mars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

She doesn't play the worst character by any measure, but I don't know how necessary Elle was anyway. She had a damn load of potential, moreso than some of the other new characters (*cough* Majah).

KB is the only reason I kept watching. As for keeping her on the show, I don't mind either way. I loved Elle, I love how she has connections with the Petrelli family. Whatever her fate, I'll be ok with it. She'll always be Veronica Mars to me.

I see this as excellent news. I agree that Bell's talents are completely wasted on Heroes. And, if she hasn't signed, is it because she's being considered for a roll on Joss Whedon's Dollhouse?
How fabulous would she be given Joss material to perform? And we know he likes her!

She's one of the reasons the second season sucked so bad. Her character was silly and she over acts everything. Kill her off along with Miya and Monica just leave the new bad guy and start over.

I have to agree the character Elle was a sadistic bi...granted it wasn't her fault it was her fathers for torturing her for most of her childhood but still he made her in to the back stabbing piece of work she is I don't think killing her off would hurt the show at all...let her go do other things with her "talent"
