That's the NBC show, not the city.
The Parents Television Council has filed a complaint with the FCC about the February 15 episode of Las Vegas that showed "shadowy naked women" streaking through the casino. Here's the video and the complaint filed by the PTC. You really can't see much in the video. It seems to be blurred a bit here and there. Is that the way it was shown on the network or is the video edited? This particular episode of the show ran Friday at 9pm and not usual 10pm slot. The show has recently been canceled by NBC, so this is probably going to be one of those times where we here about the ruling five years after the show is off the air (a la NYPD Blue). The PTC has also filed a complaint against CBS about Dexter.
I have no idea if the PTC has a legit beef here (though I see nothing wrong), but I do know that Shadowy Naked Women would make a great TV show.

Can't these people just go back to reading their Bibles and home-schooling their next generation of whiners?

Shadowy Naked Women, huh? When's the premiere of that starting up?
And if the show gets canceled, will all the fans send the canceling station those big rig truck mud flaps with shadowy naked women on them instead of nuts?
.................there's another joke in there......got nothing.

There is only thing more absurd than the Parent's Television Council making this sort of complaint (and some of the stuff that they put on their website that doesn't relate to complaints is even more absurd - did you know that "1 vs. 100" was misrated a couple of weeks ago because Bob Saget made a single condom joke, and the Dahm Triplets were on the show?). That one thing is that the FCC as currently constituted not only hears these complaints but, as in the case of the "NYPD Blue" fine and before that the "Without a Trace" fine, not only takes these complaints seriously but even agrees with them. And these days, when the maximum FCC fine is $325,000, that has a lot of broadcasters shaking in their boots. No wonder people who really want to make and watch cutting edge TV are migrating to cable.

It's groups like these that make me wonder how great free speech is. Absolute morons, as usual. And they achieve nothing because they're so silly and hysterical. Disband! Disband!

Sad to say they do achieve something. Every time they win a victory like the "NYPD Blue" case or the "Without a Trace" case a few years ago they make network executives a little more wary about putting on edgy shows and they make advertisers a little more cautious in case they get targeted by boycotts.

We need to start a bring back Las Vegas campaign now in spite of the PTC. Or we could just send the Jericho nuts to the PTC in a big gift basket with a card that says: You are what you eat.

It's one thing to have a legitmiate complaint if you are watching tv and aren't expecting to see "inappropriate" things like cleavage, bare butts, etc. I think this holds especially true for live shows or commericals. However, targeting specific shows like Dexter and Las Vegas(that people know what time are on ans what content they hold) diminishes their credibility. So instead of targeting legitmate issues with TV, the council comes across as lazy parents wanting the goverment to do their jobs for them. I believe they are in the minority when they act as the "matter of taste police." Also, what good does it do to target shows that either originally aired on cable or are being cancelled? To me it indicates hypocracy. The council had 5 years to take a look at Las Vegas. I think they are only targeting Vegas because its ratings are going down, it got canelled, and NBC as a whole is down right now.

Bob, in answer to your question, it was totally blurred on TV, you couldn't see a thing.

Unfortunately, nothing could be seen on the show. I do remember a reflection of Simms...in the premiere, 5 or so years ago. How long does a show have to be on, before the PTC realizes a show might not be for kids? I know FCC complaints are equally weighted, but I wish people would completely ignore this group.
