More Lipstick for NBC

Lipstick Jungle
NBC's Sex and the City-like fashionable show Lipstick Jungle received an order of six extra episodes. This means that the series will get a first season of 13 episodes.

TV Guide reveals that the series, based on the book of the same name written by SatC author Candace Bushnell, is winning its timeslot among women of the 18-49 and 18-34 categories.

Lipstick Jungle stars Brooke Shields, Lindsay Price, and Kim Raver, as a trio of friends who help one another through the problems faced at work and with their family members.

The drama may not be the best series out there but, thanks to a schedule where most shows are in reruns, it found a good following of fans. In our latest LJ poll, out of the 167 people who voted at the moment at write these lines, almost 56% said the series was either "good" or "fantastic". The real test will be when the show must face real competition. It's unlikely it will stay in the same timeslots when those extra six episodes air (NBC will more than likely put ER back in its timeslot when ABC starts to air Lost at 10 p.m. on Thursdays) but, not when LJ airs, it'll have to up the ante and offer better episodes if they want viewers to stay glued to NBC instead of switching channels to watch new episodes of their favorite shows.
