Did you get Amne$ia?

AmnesiaYet another game show premiered last night. This time, it was NBC's Amne$ia hosted by Dennis Miller. This show has a similar premise than FOX's The Moment of Truth: contestants reveal secrets and facts about themselves in order to win money. The main difference between the two: Amne$ia does it tastefully while Moment goes for the ugliest and dirtiest secrets and somewhat doesn't care that your relationships go awry after the airings.

I couldn't help but compare the two shows when I watched Amne$ia's premiere last night. The tone of NBC's show is funnier and lighter. Miller jokes with the contestant and with family members that were brought along for the ride. He links questions very well together and uses what the family members revealed to make the show go smoother. Miller's interactions with the contestants may be planned but they seem more genuine than what Mark L. Walberg offers on FOX's show.

Even if we like to know someone's dirty secrets, I enjoyed the questions on Amne$ia more. It's fun to see a contestant try to remember events from his own life or even try to find his front porch's carpet amongst a series provided! I don't like watching a show that can destroy families and Moment offers that (okay, the show helped a father and his son come closer but still it did cost a few people their relationships and potentially their job). Amne$ia is clean fun.

Also, the results are revealed much faster than on Moment, where you can wait a lot of seconds (and suffer through the usual suspenseful music) before knowing if the contestant said the truth or not. What I didn't like about Amne$ia though was the length of the episode. After 30 minutes, I was ready to move on to another contestant even if the contestant in the premiere was fun to watch.

What did you think of Amne$ia? Do you like it better than The Moment of Truth? Let your voice be heard in comments and in our poll.
