As I watch the hamsters in the Big Brother 9 house, I can't help but wonder when one will sudden jolt upright and yell, "Where am I? And why am I in this handbasket?"

But then I have to stop and think about this particular group of houseguests. Maybe it's the young age, maybe it's the sort of person who actually wants to be on a show like this. I don't know. I do know that if I were in the house, I'd get out of that handbasket any way I could.

We're still two days away from the next show, but a lot has been going on in the house. Nominations? Done. New brouhahas? Of course. Power of Veto? Won. There are no spoilers in the image gallery below, but there will be show spoilers beyond the jump!

The old news recap (hey, if the shows can do it, so can I) is that nominations have been held. It's Natalie/Matt and Alex/Amanda on the block. There was a food comp and Alex, Amanda, Sheila, and Adam are stuck eating BB Slop. None of them are happy campers about that.

The original target for eviction was Amanda and Alex, mostly due to Amanda. However, last night James and Chelsia schemed and came up with what they think of as their Epic Ruthless Plan! Yes, it cannot be both "epic" and "ruthless" without the exclamation point. I was tempted to put it all in caps just to show the excitement behind it all. That plan is to turn things over, win Power of Veto, and make certain it's a Natalie/Matt eviction.

Why the big turn around? Well, it's partly to stir up the house and it's partly due to Matt. You know how Matt has constantly told us how he's playing everyone and running the house, right? Well, his fellow hamsters have picked up on that, too. They also think that if they make a deal with Amanda and Alex, they'll owe them big time.

Did they win Power of Veto? Nope. But Joshuah and Sharon did.

In other house tidbits:

• Amanda is a virgin and is upset that the others were talking about it.
• Sheila thinks Matt has had her back since the first day.
• Allison told her that Matt is playing everyone.
• Sheila told Matt and Natalie that Allison wants to get rid of them.
• Alex and Amanda came close to winning the POV.
• Josh and Sharon don't plan to use the veto, but don't want to tell Sheila so she'll continue to freak out.
• Amanda got hair dye. Exciting.
• Natalie wants to confront Allison tonight about being a two-faced so-and-so.
• Sheila is very bitter about Allison. She thinks Allison has been knocking her after she saved her from eviction. As I type this up she's ranting at Allison about everything under the sun ranging from her college education to telling others about the yeast infection. If only I could reach through this monitor and send them to their separate rooms until they can act human.

I've said it before. I say it again. These people are whack

ADDED UPDATE: Amanda went into a seizure, then passed out. Joshuah hit the panic button to summon the police. The feeds were blocked. When they came back on it seems that both Amanda and Allison are missing. Allison had hives and facial swelling. I'm not quite sure when or if they will return to the house. It sounds like Allison had an allergic reaction to something. Amanda said she has hypoglycemia issues previous to the seizure.
