The Saturn Award nominations are in, and many popular sci-fi and fantasy shows made the cut. Returning favorites like Lost, Heroes, and Dexter were recognized by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, as were newcomers Pushing Daisies and Journeyman.
With seven nominations, Lost is ahead of Dexter and Heroes, which received five and four nominations, respectively. Heroes was the big winner last year, taking home awards for Best Network Series as well as acting awards for Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere. Both actors received nominations this year, along with co-star Greg Grunberg.
Although it was shut out in 2007, Lost might have a better chance this time around now that Heroes doesn't have novelty on its side. Lost is up for Best Network Series and Best Series on DVD, and received acting nominations for cast members Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O'Quinn, Michael Emerson, Josh Holloway, and Elizabeth Mitchell. Fresh faces among the nominees include Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Kevin McKidd, and Summer Glau.
Saturn Award winners will be announced on June 24. A complete list of the TV nominations follows.

Are you fuckin kidding me? No ONE from BSG in the Best Actress Category? and BSG only has 3 nominations? What the Frak? Why all the BSG hate? 'Lost' is barely science and barely fiction and barely comprehensible to begin with.

Much as I like Terminator, it's not BSG. And I like Summer and Lena, but man, they are no where near Grace and Katee and the rest of the BSG actresses. That's so messed up. I mean they are barely feeling their characters out the last 5 episodes in term. I just don't see it. Makes no sense. And ditto on the Lost thing, I'm at a complete "lost" as what makes that so much better then BSG.

Poor 'Supernatural' only got one nomination? I don't even know what 'Lost' is about! *l* I'm sure that the ones nominated deserved it....but 'Supernatural' needs more support. The CW doesn't hardly even advertise for it anymore...and when they do show it, they put huge ads for other shows along the bottom of the screen during almost the ENTIRE episode (If I see the word 'Girlicious' plastered over Sam's torso again I will scream). It's an ill wind for a great show. They need to win 'Best Network Television Series' just so their own network will remember why they have it. It's a wonderful show!
